Australia - 8 NSXs attend Sydney Club Drive

The most recent drive day held by the Honda Sports Car Club of New South Wales (a State in Australia) attracted no less than eight NSXs. It would be a safe bet to say that this would be the largest number of NSXs to gather in the one place ever in Australia. Very rarely do you see an NSX on the road in Australia, so to see eight was an incredible sight and as you can imagine there was much finger pointing going on as we drove past - a real treat for the public! The drive took us down south (via some great country roads) and into the Southern Highlands to the historic town of Berrima. We were joined on the drive by five S2000s and two Integra Type Rs.

Do you own an NSX in Sydney or know of someone who does? We are on the lookout for more members, so if you own an NSX in Sydney or you know of any owners, then please let me know. When I joined the club there was one other NSX owner. In a very short space of time I have grown this to over ten NSXs. We have a new President (as of a month ago) and I expect an even greater focus on growing the NSX membership given the fact that he owns two NSXs! The club is for NSXs as well as S2000s and Integra Type Rs. No other Honda models qualify for the club.

As well as regular drive days, there are also track days throughout the year at tracks such as Eastern Creek and Wakefield Park. All on-track driving is performed in a safe, controlled environment often with supervision and guidance from expert instructors. There are also regular HSCC days at the Eastern Creek Skid Pan. Being a club member, you also get a 10% discount on parts and service at selected dealers.

If you own (or know someone who owns) an NSX in Melbourne or Adelaide then let me know because I know NSX owners in these 2 cities who are keen to replicate what we have done in New South Wales with NSX membership.

I will attach a number of photos from the drive day – I hope you enjoy the photos of this significant milestone in NSX history down under………who knows, an Aussie NSXpo could even become a reality one day……

Looks like I'm the first Aussie to post! :p

Australia's most beautiful city just got even more beautiful. I'd agree, that's most likely the largest NSX drive in Australia on record. It's also nice to see that S2000's and Integra's went along for the drive; making it a real family affair.

Beautiful shots, made even better knowing they're in Australia. It's so exciting to see the Australian NSX community coming together. Two questions though -- 1) will you be making any of the high-res photos available? and 2) who laid the donuts in the top photo??? :D

AussieNSXPO in 2005?!?! I'm there!!!

Damn Neo you just beat me!

I wish I was there ..
Well I definitely be there for the next one along with 2 more NSX owners that I know.

Thanx must go to Grant for his effort and enthusiasm.

Nico

Gee Nico you are lucky cause you get to go along on a drive the next time?

Lovely shots just wondering Grant do you guys cruise monthly? I am coming up in August and would like to maybe coincide with the meet and catch up with you boys.

Hey Neo
doesn't red on red look so much nicer than black on red? Nice Job.

Didn't notice. I was just looking at photos of your car. :p LOL, they're both good because they're both red. :D

Grant : I have to commend you again on organizing such an incredible drive. The USA boys are probably having a chuckle over the appearance of only eight NSX's, but this is representative of 6% of ALL the NSX's in Australia.

Cant wait to join up with the bunch in "Sydeney" so can get in a big group photo. Even though Neo would probably only still look at mine. You're right NEo Black does look the best.

Good on you Grant I'm going to break your record if it is the last thing i do.

hehe... i love "sydeney". ;)

And yeah, i only have eyes for your NSX now. :D

BTW, trying to recruit more NSX owners; i left a message today for the guy who owns the yellow modded NSX "UNIQUE" at his workshop, plus also an invite for any other NSX owners who get work done there to contact me. Hopefully we'll weed a few more Australian NSX owners out of their hole and into the sunlight.

Who Knows Grant... Aussie NSXPO 2005 could become a reality, and it could be BIG!!! (for us aussie's)

Thanks for the comments. Sorry for the delay in responding (I have been a bit busy at work).

For High-Res photos check out

The next drive will be Sunday 29 August (we will be going South).

Assuming the 8 from the previous drive turn up plus Nico and his 2 NSX mates plus a couple of NSXs from interstate, we will have 13 NSXs!

I will be approaching Honda Australia to help the club out in making contact with the NSX owners that they have on their database, so hopefully there will be even more than 13!

I understand that a prominent car magazine will be coming along for the August drive to take photos for an article on the club which will provide us with great publicity, which will hopefully lead to even more members. I will be getting the photographer to delete numberplates, so there is no concern there. I will also ask them to mention in the article the possibility of an Aussie NSXPO 2005 and for details to keep an eye on NSXprime.

A couple more photos of the 4 reds that meet early morning (under the Sydney Harbour Bridge) to drive together to the meeting spot for the drive day.........

I know i'm slightly biased, being Australian and all, but those high-res photos are great. I especially like the NSX Silhouette against the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

How far south are you going for the next drive???

Hopefully I'm in for the 29th I am there for business in August dont know when so i want to bring the car up. Grant you should try to persuade a few people to our Great Ocean Road cruise that we are going to have soon much better cruising roads.

Love the red cars but wouldnt black be a good contrast to you group hope to meet you soon.
