Hello~ Potential new NSX owner, need some help.

Hello~ I've been visiting nsxprime for the past few years and recently a good long term acquaintance of mine who's an import dealer came into possesion of a 92 nsx that he's selling. I have basically read through faqs section on this site regarding the purchasing process and things to look out for but was wondering if there is anyone in OC that could come with me to check out the car. I've already checked out the car once but it was at night since i get out of work late. But I'm planning to check out the car again during the daytime sometime next week when I plan a day to leave work early. I've ridden in the nsx once but since i have never been in another nsx there's nothing for me to compare it to as a "good" standard. The ride quality seemed good though, albeit the car seemed very stiff but im guessing thats just the character of the car. If there is anyone in the OC/LA area that can check out the car with me it would be greatly appreciated. The car is located in diamondbar/rowland heights area. I can drive you to the car of course and pay for any time/inconvenience for the help ('-'*)/ As for the condition of the car its a white 92 nsx with 90k miles on it. one owner and a clean carfax but there has been a minor fender bender to the rear bumper so it has been repaired/repainted. From what the owner tells me he thinks the clutch has been replaced but doesn't know about the water pump or timing belt or windows. I haven't tried looking for the transmission # yet since it was at night when i first saw the car so i'll be doing that next time i see it. As for the paint and interior it seems to be in decent condition for the age, i see swirl marks and there's no wax on the car at all but I wasn't really suprised. The car seemed to run fine though, but im no expert and this is my first "big" purchase so I was hoping some nice nsx owners could offer some help/advice. (o_O);;

Don't forget the most important part of the process which is the pre-purchase inspection done at an acura dealer. It can save you thousands!

Also, there are quite a few qualified shops around the OC/LA area that can inspect the car for you also (timing belt/water pump, hoses replacement..etc.)

As good as owners know about the car, most of them still take them to experts (dealer, shops, mechanics) for maintenance and repair, so I would rely on the expert opinion.

hmmm...why would a car at 3 years old fail emissions inspection? but pass later on? maybe something wrong that's been fixed? just a thought

yah i don't know why. Could it be because the first owner had heavily modified the engine? The current owner said that he checked the ecu and noticed the wire harness that had tapped into the ecu for the vtec controller.

on a side note, I currently drive a 98 prelude as well lol

I have my car repair at Halex Automotive, in La Habra, CA, on imperial hway, I left my car for 1 month, price is very reasoanable, and he used to work for Metro Acura , Mission Viejo for over 8 years, Nice guy, very christian guy, the only thing, he do everything slow, so if u want rush work, he is not the one
