I second that...
Something nicely padded, so when I drive the way I drive, it won't damage the top.
Thanks!

What the heck - mine fits quite snugly into the holders and does not move - of course I am not pulling 9 G's in a turn either......

I use a thick blanket. If i can't find one, and am out and about, i hijack a homeless person's blanket from their grocery cart.
Funny, I don't have holders in the trunk??Originally Posted by Cairo94507

I think Cairo94507 is refering to the storage shelf on the engine cover.
Why don't you use the holder below the engine cover lid?
This leads me to another question. Does the CTSC engine cover accomodate the top?
Yes.Originally Posted by sr71tg

Folks, since I have dabbled in this area with the Carbrella soft T-top, I believe I can make such a product. But like any vendor, I would be concerned with the following:
Since the market for such a product is very limited, perhaps only half a dozen to a maximum dozen, the question becomes what is the target price that those of you who are interested are willing to pay? Once we establish the target price, that determines whether it can be produced given the cost of materials (fabric/padding, zipper or Velcro, etc.) and how much time we can devote to R&D and templates.
To give you a quick example, the Carbrella soft T-top for the NSX went through four templates before I was satisfied with the final product - it is almost identical to the new soft T-top on the Elise. Ours is priced at $150 shipping included, a price below the manufacturer's direct retail price to others, and at or below the retail price of the same prodcut produced in volume for GM for the Corvettes, or the Porsche T-tops! Yet, none of those who showed initial interest on these forums purchased one. Fortunately, others did and that is the risk that any vendor has to calculate

Hmm not sure on a price as of yet...
but how about a storage container like the current cover in the trunk... just a thought... probably be a bit pricey and added weight...

I have personally looked into this and have a company that is in the process of making a prototype for me. I will share details as the process moves along. If anybody else is interested, I can probably get them to make more than just mine.
Stephen that is great news. Just curious, would your template also be somehow secured or fastened perhaps with clips or Velcro to the trunk walls so it avoids shifting in the trunk? That might be a good consideration to address while you are at it.
Good luck.
I'm betting it was Heather who wrote that...Originally Posted by Hrant

NSX. Spread the word.
Oh, sorry, I forgot that many have removed their engine cover/storage unit for the top. I never considered that. DUH - with that missing, I guess you would need something to secure the top int eh trunk and protect it. My mistake -sorry. Michael (Cairo94507 )

Hrant - I will be looking into some sort of way to fasten it into the trunk. I wouldn't want it moving around back there!![]()
