The engine stats sound great. However, the car is ugly as sin. If anything, lets hope it gets Honda motivated.

Engine: High-output double overhead cam V-8
Horsepower: More than 500 hp
Height: 48.0 inches
Width: 73.2 inches
Length: 173.2 inches
Wheelbase: 103 inches / 2580 mm
Overall length: 173 inches / 4400 mm
Overall width: 73 inches / 1860 mm
Overall height: 48 inches / 1220 mm
Front tire size: 245/40R19
Rear tire size: 285/35R19
DETROIT, January 9, 2005 – Lexus unveiled the LF-A sports car concept at a press conference today at the 2005 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The two-seat concept blends the performance of an exotic sports car with the luxury refinements of a Lexus. Designed to express a bold new direction in styling for the Lexus brand, the LF-A concept is a vision closely aligned with the company’s Formula One commitment to achieving superiority among its rivals in speed, quickness, agility and reliability.
“The Lexus LF-A is like no sports car we have ever built—or even imagined,” said Jim Press, Toyota Motor Sales executive vice president and COO. “Currently only a concept, it is a realistic vision of how we might address the boundaries that define the exotic sports car landscape.”
The Lexus LF-A concept features an engine capable of developing more than 500 horsepower from a displacement of less than five liters. With a combination of optimum gearing, weight and aerodynamics, the LF-A concept would produce a top speed in the neighborhood of 200 miles per hour.
“The LF-A is theoretically developed to run a parallel course to our company’s efforts in Formula One racing,” added Press. “It would probably feature a powertrain and drivetrain configuration strongly influenced by whatever is being used in competition at the time.”
Inside, the LF-A is designed as a luxury high-speed capsule that blends extravagant comfort with precision operation. Although it is more than two inches shorter in length than the Porsche 911 Turbo, its wheelbase is nine inches longer.
At 48 inches, it is nearly identical in height to the Ferrari F430. And with a width of 73.2 inches, its splits the difference between the Mercedes Benz SL55 and the Aston Martin DB9.
While the LF-A makes a major statement in how Lexus would define exotic sports car performance, it was conceived to express the emergence of a new direction in styling for the Lexus brand, globally.

Disappointing design: Aston Martin's A, B & C pillar and roof; Corvette's rear end; nsx's cockpit...
The aero dynamic looks interesting though, wondering what needs to be done if one wants to modify the exhasut?? No tubi for them for sure!!![]()
Ewww... Toyota supercar? More like superugly. The exhaust on the back looks like someone took a shotgun and shot it up it's @$$.
And I thought the Zonda exhaust is ugly...
thats all fine and dandy - but what i want to know is who the babe in ur avatar is Zuerst
Well the Toyota verison looks alot better.
The front looks like Saturn.
Exactly. I doubt this design will ever see the road. I haven't heard one positive comment yet.Originally Posted by TigerNSX
And a lot of you guys thought the HSC was bad? Leave it to Toyota to make Honda look good.
Fug. Ly.
I think the design is interesting. I am not sure it is good looking yet, but it is certainly different.
The engine on the other hand sounds incredible. Under 5L and over 500 HP. This would be the perfect engine for the next NSX
If Toyota can do it, surely Honda can.

I don't know what is going through their heads. I think Honda is letting us all down. I am pretty sure they are going to lose a lot of thier loyal buyers when they drop any kind of performance car from their line up.Originally Posted by HSC

Well someone has to disagree with you guys..
I like the design.. It is very Aston and has some Bentley Continental GT lines in it.. Kinda looks like an evolutionary design more fitting for a new Supra. Definitely 1 million times better than the butt ugly Cadillac Art & Science crap that everyone is going gaw gaw over.. JMHO..

I do like how the air ducts dissapear into the rear glass. Some how the color is different here too. I guess I need to see it in person.
Does anyone know when the Detroit Auto show is over? Maybe I will go next week if it isn't too late.
Interesting that it is nearly identical in height to the Ferrari F430, I have a feeling that this car will looks alot better in person![]()
What? Don't you think it runs the same lines as the Cadillacs? I agree, it looks like a new Supra to me as well.Originally Posted by blknsxnoc

I think I liked it better when it was covered up with all the camouflage in the spy photos.
Looks good. I like it.
I own an Integra but I would love to own an NSX.
At least this concept can push in excess of 500HP instead of the in excess of 300HP the HSC came with when it was introduce.
Waiting...
