F1 coverage begins in under an hour...

Anyone else excited? I like Nascar and all, but I soooooo miss F1. Wonder how things will play out this year with all the driver swaps and rule changes...

Go someone other than Ferrari (though i like Reubens...)

    Red face tadaaa!

hmmm... The word through the grapevine has been that Renault & Mclaren have been much superior through the winter testing than BAR-Honda. Of-course Ferrari was a cut above the rest.

Winning a G.P. or two w/ a handful of podiums would be nice along w/ ending the numerous DNF's which are just plain awful towards the team effort...

    Sato crashed in the rain.
Commentators said that his number on the car is unlucky in Japanese.
    I guess they are right.

What does everyone think about them having run on the same tires during qualifying and during the main event? New rule is... No tire changes unless the tire is damaged.

the McLaren "bullhorns" look odd. Not as odd as last years BMW-Williams front end, but odd.

And who thought the day would come when Fisichella would out-qualify everyone, and a Sauber would be 8 spots up on the nearest Ferrari? That weather was very interesting...

Truli looks like a redheaded Kenny-G lol.Same tires for qualifying and the race is an amazing change in tire chemistry.

Should be exciting watching the fast guys starting in the rear due to the wet q-sesions.

Thanks for the heads-up. I was able to catch it on Tivo. I think I like the new qualifying rules. We'll see how they play out during the season, but it is sure making the Aussie GP interesting!

I was sorry to Sato stuff it during his out-lap.

I hate to offend purists, but I don't really care for F1 racing/qualifying in the rain. I really think it's more enjoyable to watch in the dry. They postpone baseball and tennis for the rain, why not F1?

It was a GREAT RACE: Schumacher didn't win! Us Melbourne boyz made sure of that.

After the race, NSXClubOfAustralia, AU_NSX and myself went for a walk around the track to check out where Schumacher's accident occured. It looked like they left a HUGE rear wheel burnout which went over the grass and clipped the cornering. See red arrows in the pictures EXCLUSIVE below.

Also got a pix of Schumacher before his "schumuckup".

Thanx goes to DIPPY for booking our seats and taking care of us.

Since YOU asked for it: B/C Unlike racing, baseball, football and tennis requires only one Ball. And specifically, Tennis doesn't require any Balls

Awesome shots from the scene of the crime, Neo! With that evidence, it's CLEAR to me that Schuey took away Heidfeld's line, and got what he deserved... !

I'm in awe of his lifetime accomplishments and supreme mastery of the cockpit, but he is sometimes unsportsmanlike...

Re: F1 coverage begins in under an hour...

By the way, what do you guys think of BAR's decision to pull Button and Sato out of the race on the last lap and use the loop hole in the rules. Now, they can use a new engine for the next race without penalty. Of course I'm a BAR Honda fan so I say go for it especially since Ferrari and Micheal Schumacher did the same thing only a little less obviously. BAR is sure getting some flack for that though in the F1 forums. Acutally, many seem kind of split on it, They don't like the idea but don't really blame BAR for using the rules to their advantage. Most just want the 1 engine for 2 race days rule to be repealed.
