Is there an easy way to remove the CD changer BAR?

Is there an easy way to remove the CD changer BAR (the one that you use to pull the changer out of its "locked position" - you know - the handle).

Mine is scratched and I wanted to paint it.

I had to send my changer back to Alpine to get a CD out that was stuck in there. Didn't know it at the time, the magazine wouldn't come out so when I sent it away they returned it along with the CD !!
Anyway I fought with mine for a few days and couldn't get it out so ended up taking to dealer and having them do it.
