    Question Engine Swap

Anyone out there know what changes would be required to place a '99 engine into a '91 body? I'm weighing some options.

    Re: Engine Swap

    The packages are the same.

The control and management systems are not.

You could swap packages and retain the original controls/management.

The '99 engine would perform correctly useing '91 engine management? By "package" do you mean engine or engine and transmission? Thanks for the help.

    Re: Engine Swap

I believe there is an issue with the throttle bodies, in 99 it is throttle by wire in 91 it is mechanical/cable connection. I suspect that you will need to change to the older throttle body to retain your current ECU.

    Re: Engine Swap

I have considered this swap myself and started doing the planning for it. While gathering parts I came across a very good deal on a 3.0 and decided to build that engine instead. I do have a lot of information about doing the swap if you have any specific questions, feel free to call at 312-719-7233.
