    Shipping Exhaust

I need to ship an NSX exhaust from Cincinnati to New York City. Unfortunately, it's too big to ship via UPS, and they won't take it. So, I called a couple of freight companies and they want 250-300 bux. Does anyone have any suggestions?

That is not too large for UPS. I Just shipped an exhaust that was in a box 55 x 13x19. (Standard Comptech Exhaust Box). They had no problem taking it and it arrived perfectly.

Use FedEx ground. I've sent out seats and downpipes before. They take up to 150 lbs. (for packages weighing 100–150 lbs., please follow the marking heavy boxes guidelines); 108" in length; 165" in length plus girth (L+2W+2H).

As a cheap (but slower) alternative, you can ship through grayhoud bus lines. They ship from terminal to terminal and are the LEAST expensive and slowest.

    Just another option,

That's exactly what I did to ship my exhaust. Worked great for the price!

True. And they accept oversized items. You can pay more for "next bus out" or pay less for... whatever they call their lower priced service. You can ship it and have them deliver it at the other end for a higher fee, or have it available for pickup at the Greyhound terminal or agent for a lower fee.

I shipped something from downtown Chicago, and found that their cargo service has its own entrance at the Greyhound terminal, with dedicated parking spaces right outside the door, so it was easy, too. Website: shipgreyhound.com

However, every time I've checked prices for anything that the other carriers accept, I've found FedEx Ground to be least expensive, then UPS Ground. Expect to pay more than those if you go Greyhound.
    NSX. Spread the word.

I shipped a Taitec JGTC exhaust by UPS a few moths back....it barely made the dimensions, but it went.

How about shipping a set of wheels w/ tires already mounted. How has anyone packaged them? and did UPS, FED-EX, DHL....ect. take them. or what forms of shipping was used?
