Do you have a picture of it installed? I'm happy with mine, but it's the expensiveOEM Type-S shifter.

I think I need a ball shifter and use the stick locknut/boot. Is the type R knob weighted like the Zanardi/Factory 05? Is there one that is?
Hopefully Chris will let me exchange this thing... it just doesn't fit.

I'm using this one from SOS. It makes a HUGE feeling difference. I have always hated the stock high knob.

Is that one light? I like the weighted ones. Clearly the factory sees some benefit because the 05 one is HEAVY.Originally Posted by NRG

You might want to ask Chris from SOS. heavy for me could be light for you. I"m not sure.
Zanardi edition/Type S/NA1 Type R uses that shift knob. If the replication is accurate, you will also need to change the shifter linkage. You can get the linkage through local Acura dealer. Look under Zanardi edition parts.

If the Zanardi shifter tickles your fancy, but it's position isn't as desired... look into one or more of the followin options:

The SOS replica has a deeper thread than Zanardi... so its supposed to sit lower. But.... my pole (the one in the car) flares out towards the end and the SOS only goes so far then gets stuck. Its definitely not in all the way, as its top sits 1-2" higher than the top of the stock unit.Originally Posted by Vancehu

Buy the Zanardi shift linkage and it will thread down far enough to sit lower, where it belongs. This does seem to shorten the throw a bit.
I believe the Gruppe M one, which looks similar, will thread down lower without the Zanardi linkage if you don't want to make the change.
In my latest installation I installed a RSX-S shift knob with the SS kit. Six speed legend on the top and has a nice grip material. You can ask "Carcrazedforlife" (Charlie) here on prime if he can get you a pic. The color also matches the 2002+ interior very nicely. I was quite impressed with the overall result.
