I had a very small tear in my weatherstripping, so I went to the dealer to have a new one ordered. I paid $500 to have the parts ordered. A few weeks go by and then they call me to tell me that that part is in. They take off my old weatherstripping and then find out that they accidentally ordered the wrong one. They tell me it's going to be an additional $700 now. I just told them to put the old stuff back on and I'm going to take the car to another dealer. Is this correct? $1200 for weatherstripping?
As a side note, will I have problems / will the weatherstripping fit worse after they take it off and put it back on?

If you're referring to the rubber strip which goes on top of the front windshield, I thinks I ordered it over the web for approx. $100 a while ago. Installed it myself and took about 25 minutes.
Vroom,
Thanks for the info.
Lutera,
Where did you order from?

It was around 100$ (130 CHF in Switzerland) here too... are we speaking about the black rubber part on top of the windshield right?
Where did you guys order from? I'm looking for the pieces that run along the inside of the window and along the rear of the top where it meets the Targa top. Please let me know if you've got info.
Acura wanted over $1000 for those parts.
Ok, then we are speaking of different parts.
I mean, it is the same part but for different NSX models, I had a coupe. I bought it through a Honda dealer.
Try asking Dave at Asian Auto Parts (www.asian-auto-parts.com or, 800-510-6742) or, Mark of daliracing.com.
I talked to the lady at the dealership again, and she said that even though the small tear is only in the front weatherstripping (connected to the windshield), I also need to replace the two side ones as well. The strips on the side are fine, but she said something about the metal connecting them to the front needs to align. Does this sound about right?
