Racing shell with 3 point seatbelt

How do you install a racing seat with the original 3 point seat belt? Does it go through any of the holes in the saet ot do you just pull it over the seat?

Edit: Buy a seat that is designed to accept a stock 3-point belt. At worst, use the lap portion of a real (not tuner) 5/6 point harness through the seat holes. Also, talk with a real race shop that acts as a tech center/car certifier as part of their business. Doing otherwise puts you at higher risk to serious, if not fatal, injury. Don't end up like that kid who installed 4-point tuner belts in his car and paid dearly for it when he would have been much better off with his stock belts.

Can the stock belt be installed going through the side hole that you see in most after market seats? Without cutting into the hole?

I may be doing this myself but only with the blessing of a local race shop that is an officially sanctioned tech center for a number of big race organizations. I may end up having to run the lap belts of my 5 point setup at the same time or even being barred from using a 3 point system. I'll adhere to whatever I'm told because it's my life at stake.

There was something potentially very dangerous about running only a stock 3 point system on most race seats but I can't remember exactly what and the exact circumstances. It had something to do with the stock belt pinching the seat in a collision resulting in the seat collapsing, then some really bad stuff happening. I'll see if I can find more information.

This topic is best handled by a responsible race shop. They will let you know the options and risks with various setups and will probably recommend something that will best suit your needs. As mentioned before, don't be the person who installs 'tuner' parts that jeopardizes your life.

I don't plan to race with it yet. But I do need more headroom in my car.
If I don't race, then do I still have the same concern that you are talking about?

why don't you get the dali seat cushion for the stock seats, which gets you at least another inch and you have no belt issues.
