Another bogus NSX ad on Ebay

Just spotted this. You probably know of the white/tan '01 Coupe that's been on Ebay a couple times. Well, I saw the auction again and down the same page saw another auction for another '01 Coupe. I checked the link and it's another bogus auction with stolen pictures from the original one. The seller is newly registered in France and location in Canada. There is no VIN number on the bogus auction, as usual. I wrote to Hunting Ridge Motors about the bogus auction so they can take appropriate action.

Here's the authentic auction:

How stupid is this guy posting his bogus auction shortly after the real one was posted and with the same pictures.

We should start to place bids on the car. Maybe the imposter will get nailed on fraud.

Looks like eBay has already acted, as the auction is down. I would have rather toyed with the guy for a while myself.

I wrote an email to the original seller of the car. He wrote back and thanked me for advising him and contacted Ebay to have it removed.

I emailed the one that has been removed for the VIN number and here is the reply:

JH4NA21311T000062 this is the VIN but my auction on ebay was canceled and i don't know why! If we can close something outside ebay let me know, i am ready to use escrow service. Thanks

Whaddya wanna bet it's an escrow service in Europe?

BTW I've seen that photo before on Ebay, probably about 4 months ago. I'm probably just being paranoid, given how easy it would be to check out a car at a dealership, but doesn't it strike anyone as odd that a dealer is using a photo of a car taken on what looks like a snowy mountain road instead of a dealership lot?

On second thought, after the recent joyride thread, maybe it's not so odd that a dealer might take a photo of an NSX out in the wild.

Good job Vytas!

NSX-00054: Did you read the story on MSN about fake escrow companies that took a guy's money and ran? Scary..
