    Wind Up Windows

    Hi Guys,

Do you know if the first Type Rs have windups? We are looking for a set for our NSX instead of the weighty electric ones, and non moving perspex windows are a compromise to far at the moment.

Otherwise, are there any other retro fit options?

    Many thanks

    -Rob

All NSX versions have power windows. Honda looked at manual windows when they were designing the NSX Type R, but it seemed that the mechanism needed for manual windows was heavier than the original power windows. So, logically, they retained the power windows.

Mym is correct. I think this has been discussed on a few occasions here before. I always wondered why they did not kill the AC system to save weight for the truly hardcore.

    Hi Rob, remember this?

Hey Shumdit, neither the original NSX-R or the later one came with air conditioning standard - it was optional, just like the stereo. On the original NSX-R, it looks like it cost 300,000 Yen.

Thanks for the correction! I did not know that. I have not studied the NSX-R much, but all the ones I remember seeing looked like they had AC.
