Volume knob static crackle

This just started on my car....Thanks for digging up this old thread!!

I just tried this today & it worked!! I had Brian K do the driver's door amp & CCU 1 yr ago. Still had static only on left when adjusting volume at lower levels. I thought something was still wrong with the amp even though we all know Brian is thorough. Or had a separate problem inside radio. Been keeping volume higher or radio off to avoid the static (still not as bad as the bursts from the amp). The push & rotate then pull & rotate totally fixed it.

The contact cleaner suggestion worked for me too! Thanks.

I purchased an 04 radio and I was having this issue. Pressing with force and turning the volume knob back and forth fixed the issue. Now I can listen to my cassette tapes without worry.

Anyone heard from Willman's Electronics?
