Edmonton Silver Nsx Parked c/w dust at the Manhatten.

Anyone know whos Silver (we think) Nsx is parked on the first level of the parkade at The Manhatten in Edmonton? It was noticed in September and hasn't moved yet! Its nicely coated with a thick layer of dust that people now have started writing in.
I will gladly go wash this car if I could get permission.

Its a silver 91 5 speed with 160,000 km on it.
Looking at the dust thickness and the rust on the rotors, this baby hasn't seen sunlight in a while. The tears are still frozen on my cheek.

I can't imagine what would cause an NSX to just sit there, for what appears to be YEARS unless

a) the owner is dead or in the klink (as noted)
b) the car had some sort of disasterous failure that the owner has not gotten around to fixing yet (engine/tranny?)
c) the owner moved overseas, and plans to return to the car at a later date

Detective questions I can think of are:
When were the plates last updated (the little yearly stickers)?
Is there construction in the area to accumulate all that dust?
The tires look like they have decent tread depth, do they have a manufacture date stamped in them?
Perhaps someone can call the DMV and see when the car was last registered?

C is very likely. While I was on assignment abroad, I stored my NSX for 6 months before selling it. It didn't have that kind of dust on it though!

Nice house, respectable suburb, new owner paid cash, lived there for 6-12 months and then just disapeared and left without even closing the windows. The gardens overgrew and the pool dried up, eventually the neighbours cleaned up the yard and mowed the lawn to at least make it look respectable again. Never saw the owners again. The house after 5 years like that was sold by an agent but I don't know whether the money went to the Govt or offshore???

When he finished his degree he left. Just walked out the door and left everything. His rent was paid 6 months into the future so I thought he was coming back. After the rent went unpaid for one month I sent out certified mail to find out what was going on. After the legal amount of time had passed without an answer, I entered the apartment to clean it out. This guy left everything, top of the line computer, designer clothes thousands of dollars in Armani, Gucci, Prada, all the furniture, electronics equipment galore, most of the clothes were worn and not clean. I reached into the pocket of a Prada ski coat and there was 500 dollars in cash! By the time I had checked the rest of the pants and coat pockets I had near 4k in cash.
What totally blew my mind was he also left his two cars a Audi A6 and a Prelude, both less than a year old and completely paid for. It took many months of paperwork but we did end up with the cars in the end too.
I still have not heard from him or his family.

See....now people like that are just wasteful, and boggle the mind. I mean, even if someone is so rich that they just do not care, you would at least think that they would be courteous enough to let you know they were leaving permanantly.

Here is a hint the company starts with an S. Even with the month of unpaid rent and the two months to turn the townhouse around there was a good pile of funds left over. I have had tenants leave a lot of valuable items behind but this guy gets the blue ribbon award. There are so many Cornell students who are ultra wealthy. It is not uncommon for them to just pick up and leave. I had another wealthy Argentinean gentleman leave behind an entire apartment full of stuff in the past too. He did however give most of the more desirable items away the day before he left.
The Onkyo stereo in my garage is from a Cornell student who left for Finland and never returned. :biggrin: Great little system for the price. :biggrin:

The townhouse was locked. The keys for the Prelude were in the ignition and the key for the Audi was on the kitchen counter. Both the cars were sold as soon as I received the paperwork and a nod from an attorney.

Right now our goals are just to see what the deal is with why the car has been sitting for so long, and to get a recent picture of it to see if is even there anymore. We will find a way. :) :cool:

I cant get into the parkade anymore and I have waited twice out back by the door to get in or sneak in. 15 minutes later i took off. One day i will get back in.
I sent the owner a letter with not response. Cant find any relatives of his.

I just read th first page posted another thread on offtopic then i saw that there was 3 pages you guys have some nutttts!!! to chase this car for 3 years . Its amazing .any new news? i have had lots of cars the people just dont care about . My dad owns a auto shope so when we bought the place there was 18 bmw and Benz that have been setting since 97 so we made keys for all the cars and a mechanic lean and sold the cars. Some one should tow the car clean it take it to a mechanic and do a lean just pay the mechanic like 1000$ for the lean and the car is in your name , what do you think?

Well seeing how the car is on private property that the owner has access to ...I'm quite sure that the previously motioned tactics would classify as "Grand theft auto".

Unless the owner moves the car to your property and leaves it there for a few months this idea is not going to work.

Come to think of it - this may be the issue I have with some Lessees:
They can't afford the car, but don't want to give it back - so they stuff it somewhere until the "heat" has worn off (could be a year) and THEN they start driving it again (we de-plate the cars, so when they're pulled over and we're lucky they get impounded - sometimes a year later!)

I first noticed this thread a few months ago, and was extremely excited and was anticipating a great ending.............

although it is a let down for us, lets all hope that the owner is catching up on lost quality time with the car.

If it was my NSX, the only way it would sit there for that long, was if I was in the slammer.

i work for acura and i ran the vin he had service at a dealership in july 06 owner is registered in Edmonton

He is a private kind of guy and I won't bother him.
But I did talk to Emil today, the owner of Accurate Mechancial.
He has his original 91 still and I'm going to get him involved with the Edmonton Guys if he wants.
