I believe if we start an email campaign to all the car magazines, we may have a chance for full coverage of the November 2002 NSX Expo.
Will post some email addresses tomorrow. Anyone have them now?

good luck, but you may want to consider using the event's correct name, NSXPO or NSXPO 2002 :P.

Bob,
That sounds like a great idea. As NSXPO is our highest profile event annually in this country, it could serve as a "vehicle", pun intended, to raise awareness and appreciation for the NSX in the USA. This would have several benefits of which I will list a couple:
1)A better understanding of the car and it's capabilities would perhaps reinforce resale values.
2)This understanding might possibly, and I stress the "MIGHT", reduce the number of times each of us hears the words "Hey man, nice Corvette!" I know, that would take the fun out of those filling station visits!
3)A few of us might actually end up with our cars in a nationally published magazine...COOL!
It couldn't hurt to try so why not. For instance, in Autoweek there's always a section listed for upcoming automotive related events. I would think that NSXPO would meet the criteria to be listed there.
I have a good friend who is an editor for Super Street magazine. If you get me a good contact name and number I'll call him and pass along the info.

I am on the planning team (currently preparing the budget and will be the registrar) for NSXPO 2002. Have your pal call me during the day at 713-215-8016.
I think you want to make an exclusive arrangement with a top magazine, rather than tell everybody. Start at the top (C&D) and work your way down until you get interest.
By all means, pursue it. However, this isn't a new idea. In past years, we have alerted contacts at most of the major car mags about NSXPO and they were not interested in covering it.
Its sad but true, the mags were put on notice, but no involvement. There were some fellows shooting a digital movie on the import scene at nsxpo 01,which by the trailer has nsx coverage.
I work for a magazine publishing company and though ads don't determine editorial content it sure doesn't hurt with product or event releases.
It may be true in this instance that the ad dollar greases coverage. Please note I wrote "may be true." This is not always the case and they just may cover it on it's own merits. I'm sure AutoWeek would and maybe R&T. Rice Mags are looking for any event featuring those with blonde hair, large breasts, and small hips. So maybe they aren't a good resource. Grassroots Motorsports would be a good one.
The lack of interest in covering it is not at all surprising. With all due respect, there are plenty of special-interest auto clubs with these kinds of meets every year. I sure don't care to read about the Camaro Club of America's annual meet for example, and likewise plenty of people don't want to read about NSXPO. Not in a major car mag anyway.

Although, I seldom watch it. Maybe someone could give Hi-Rev Tuners on "Speed Channel" a shout. If you could get commitments from some of the monster HP cars like the 500+ monster from CA I saw on the site a few months ago to show up, you might get a bite.
Not true.I can think of many instances when I have read about car club meets and one make gatherings.Unfortunatly for us these articles usualy start with the author saying"I was invited by my dear friend to join the------".I clearly remember major mag coverage of miata mania, the running of the bulls,Z convention ect.We just need the right contacts.

Why not Road & Track? What? They've done the buyer's guide, and the owners survey this year. An NSXPO article would be the perfect addition to their mag.

The NSX also has had a little more publicity this year due to the 2002 makeover, so there might be more interest than the last few years.
I have to agree with others though, coverage of owner meets in the major magazines like C&D, R&T, etc, is rare...but it is pretty common in the smaller mags that are a little more focused on a specific area.
Bump .............White92NSX (Ted) brought this to my attention!
Do we know what happened to this thread?
Anyway we can start anew for NSXPO 2003?
I will contact our sponsors to see if they have any chits that they can use with some magazines given their advertising dollars.

Obviously you haven't watched the show in a while. It now has a new format and Katrina is no longer there. Ann is though. Luckily that idiot dude is gone also.

I would hope so... between ACURA and HONDA, with numerous print ad campaigns (twisty road, RTR NSX, Asimo, etc) in a number of publications, we should be able to leverage a good amount of collective goodwill.
