I have a question regarding the Avatar images.

Are GIF images the only images that can be used? I am wondering if small JPEGs could be used? The GIFs, because of their limited color range always look grainy. I could see why you would want to have a size limit (so it doesn't take forever for a page to load).

Just curious.

GIFs are the only format supported right now. If you do it right, a GIF can look great. I just created an avatar for Nsxotic based off a .JPG on his website. I think it looks reasonably good (not grainy, etc.)
