That counter seems to be hanging my ability to navigate the site. Sometimes I have to stop a back or forward page view and reload.

OK, this stupid new counter has caused far too many problems. Does anyone have a recommendation for a better one?

OK I figured out how to set the value to be correct and switched it today (in the forums only for now). Let me know if this one works any better for you. If it works OK I'll change it site-wide.

Well, Fast Counter doesn't seem to be causing any problems. I switched the entire site over to it yesterday.

It is also counting more hits than those unreliable ones I was using before... probably because the old ones didn't load correctly on a lot of people's computers.
