Just wanted to say hello and keep some activity going on our local board!
How's everyone doing???
NSX NEWS
My NSX
My NSX has been in hiding over the last couple of weeks as the weather has been so cruddy. I want to get some stiffer anti-roll bars on there sometime this winter and maybe a new hood with a big scoop (just for looks!).... Maybe nitrous??????????? Have to talk w/ TitaniumVtec about this...
The Hunter's new garage!
I want to brag about the Hunter's garage (and congratulate him for creating a great new home for his NSX)... I'll let him tell you how and why he went from a really ho-hum exposed wall stud, cracked/unpainted concrete floor to a 2 car taj mahal garage! It's fully insulated, drywalled, painted, with a nice new floor and enough metal cabinets to store his many tools and spare parts! I've only seen a few pics so far, but it looks AWESOME! He just needs a flat panel TV, some comfy chairs, and a fridge and it'll be quite a hangout!
Lutera's NSX
I think Lutera has decided, for the time being anyway, to keep his NSX, which is great news!
TitaniumVTEC & Go-Karting
TitaniumVTEC is coming up to DC for Christmas and we're planning on going go-karting on Sunday, December 30 (assuming AllSports GP doesn't get booked in advance). I'll keep you updated on this as it draws nearer...
What's going on with you and your NSX - any big winter plans for the car????????
I've driven my NSX exactly once since October! :D

How come? Repairs, lack of interest, bad weather, no time?

All of the above except "lack of interest"!

I got frustrated real quick with lowly offers I was receiving. I don't need to get rid of it any ways  . Haven't driven it in a few weeks though :frown: .
Thinking about getting Prodrive GC05 wheels in silver.
I'm going crazy not driving the NSX lately. Hopefully, we'll get a good spell of weather here soon.
I've been thinking of selling my comptech exhaust and going with a taitec GTLW and picking up taitec headers also. What do you guys think? Is the taitec a lot louder than the comptech?

FYI you have the option to install inner tubes with GTLW. It affects performance a bit but quiets it down a lot. Lately I've been driving without tubes and it's not too loud. YMMV.

I only drove my NSX a few times this year. Missed all track events too. But I did get to chance to drive to NSX Stock, NJ; had a great time I hope to do it again next year. Also an awesome drive to Skyline drive with a few NSXers.
I was down for about 3 months for the 02 front end conversion, 5 month waiting on parts my 6 speed conversion i.e. NSX-R main shaft and clutch. 2 weeks on the rear hub with bearings and broken axle.
Thanks to Bryan for all his help over this year.

Well my car is still in the body shop after it had been stolen in June. They say that it will be an early X-mas present. I'm not holding my breath! Once they finish the car, i still need to figure out why it won't start. It started a few times after it was wrecked, although once it arrived at the body shop, it wouldn't start. It was 100+ degrees that day. (maybe the main relay?) Anyway, I have driven the car a total of three times since August of 06! I had the SC installed, tuned, and worked on the interior and drove it to the beach the day that I finished with it. It was stolen the next day!@#$ I want my car back!!!!!
If I have time today I am going to go driving around today

I've been busy with my search for an NA1. I came real close on two... maybe the third one works out.
At any rate, I'm still actively looking. Send me a PM if you get a lead.

Is there a mileage preference and price range you want to stay in incase I run into one? :)

Looking for a red or silver, clean, stock NA1 around $30K, mileage up to 70-80k. Heck even up to 100k with documented services.
I have been driving my X all of the time, except for the two days of snow. My NSX has become my daily driver now.

Hey everyone,
what you guys been upto? Man, I have been stuck at home for awhile now. We are expecting our first baby in Jan 7th. Doctor ordered my wife to bedrest till the delievery date so I'm doing all the chores around and house and all. I guess it will be all worth it though at the end.
So I haven't had a chance to take my X for a drive for awhile.
Happy holidays everyone and be safe:biggrin:

It seems like the animals are getting restless, everyone wanting to drive the car. Mine is in the shop getting some engine work done, hopefully will be finished in a few weeks.
Thanks everyone for kind words.
Except you, Chris:biggrin:

My garage makeover is almost finished so here is the story. My NSX shares a 2 car garage with my SUV and the place was dark, cold and unfinished with bare framing on the walls and a badly cracked concrete floor. I wanted to give the NSX a better home and got a great reason for doing so a few months ago when a car drove straight through the side of the garage and smashed into my SUV. It was the only day that week I had driven my NSX to work:smile: . Then it got complicated because the car that hit the garage had diplomatic plates and their insurance company denied all liability. Well it eventuallly got sorted and I engaged a contractor to repair the garage and do some improvements. The walls were insulated and drywalled, new lights in the ceiling, extra power outlets and a few coats of paint made a huge difference. The cracked floor was hidden with Bigfoot tiles from Greg Smith and I installed metal cabinets and workbenches to store my spare parts and all the stuff that was previously stacked on the garage floor or hanging on a nail. So now my NSX has a bright warm and friendly place to live and I have a decent place to do my winter projects. Oh and a big thanks to Michael for finding the metal cabinets on Craig's List.

Now I have seen it all, in MD they need to close those alcohol drive thrus. If u are going to drink and drive try not to hit your own house. Next time try hitting someones mail box.
The New garage make over looks sweet.

Holy cow, your garage was a mess! Nice make over!

Sorry to change the subject, but does anyone in the MD area have a set of wheels I can borrow until the end of January? I just sold my HREs and my new DPEs will not be ready until end of January. I don't plan to drive the car at all until then, but I would hate to have my car sitting on jack stands. I don't care about what kind of wheels they are as long as they fit my 2004 (I understand that the pre 1994 OEM wheels will not fit).
THanks in advance.

Another off-topic question:
Does anyone have a box big enough to ship out my hood in? Has anyone recently bought an aftermarket hood and saved the box?
I just sold my 2004 OEM hood but I have no idea how I am going to package it for shipping.
Thanks in advance.
Charley
I finally got the car out of the garage yesterday and went for a drive. woohooo. It's a little more sporty than the truck I've been driving for the last month.

Bryan came over today (Christmas) and help me change the oil and install a SOS short gear stalk and a NSX-R 6 speed shift knob.
I wash my NSX and took it on a short drive.
I can't wait until spring.
No drives for me. Just waiting for the JRZ suspension to arrive . I'll list my Type-R suspension for sale in near future.

Paul,
Bryan help me install just the short stalk, I don't think it should be a problem with Daves SS. Call Bryan, I think he is free the weekend.

My car has both, no problem. It may be a good idea to lubricate shift linkages well while you're doing it. It reduces any notchiness/hesitation while shifting.
Happy New Year guys!
May the year 2008 bring you lots of joy in the form of NSX modifications! :D
