Here's an update!

We now have one of Acura Erin Mills techs (he's also an NSX owner) coming to do a tech session, and....

Larry Bastanza is coming from the states to do a tech session as well. He's one of the most experienced NSX techs on the continent, you can't miss this!

PS. So far 3 Americans are coming, 5 members of the executive, so where are our Canadian members at?

First, we're staying at the Gananoque Inn http://www.gananoqueinn.com/ which is a fantastic spot right on the gateway to the St. Lawrence river and the 1000 islands.

We're going for a cruise up some very scenic roads, having tech sessions taught by Larry B & a NSX tech from Acura Erin Mills, who races his own NSX, a fantastic dinner at the Inn on Saturday night, a show and shine, and general all around good times Canadian style (by that I mean beer).

100% we'll have some extra seats - as well, we will have some "support vehicles" there to carry the beer, bbq supplies etc. so we'll have transport to 1000 Islands for anyone who can't drive but wants to come - if we get too many we'll rent a bus!

Everyone from Alberta, Vancouver, Belgium, etc. please consider yourselves invited - we'll sort out the logistics for you, don't worry!

Our plan includes lots of hanging around outside of cars time so you won't truly miss your NSX - but you will miss your sobriety!

Stu - not that you have a six pack, but I highly doubt that our Southern neighbours will have as much interest in your mid region as your frequently rotated cabin boys.

Let the record show that Red has maintained a "Help Wanted" ad at his Yacht Club for at least 18 months, specifically looking for a "Clean and Smooth Cabin Boy". There are tons of tabs missing on the bottom so I know he is getting lots of calls, despite his "reply with photo" request; odd.

Please EMAIL to ESTFEST@NSXCLUB.CA:

Name and guest name (if applicable)
Color and year of NSX
Mailing address
email address
phone numbers (home and mobile)
And whether or not you're a NSXCA or NSXCC member

Also beware that the dinner is $40 per person at the INN. We are assuming that ALL PATICIPANTS will be at that. Payable that night.

Also please consider that we will be looking for NSXCC members to renew for 2008, which we have not yet called upon.

Regardless, we are gonna have a BLAST! Those who skipped NSXPO have to come see this event. We will have Americans! They're not as goofy as their President would have you believe.

Okay just kidding, there's lots of rooms left. Thought I'd scare everybody into action :-)

She did say that the hotel is 100% non-smoking, though. That's good news for me, hopefully doesn't cause a problem for anybody else. If it does, it may be a good time to quit smoking!

PLEASE - Register soon - the hotel is running low on rooms!

If you reserve now you CAN cancel later (there may be a cancellation fee depending on when you book) but max cancellation is $50 so why not risk $50 that you won't be able to make it vs. not risking the money and having to stay at a different hotel if you can get a room anywhere in Gan - remember its the May long weekend - it will be PACKED!!!

Ok, we've planned an amazing weekend for everyone here's the update:

Over half of the available disounted rooms are booked, and it promises to sell out. There's still room, and the hotel discount (it's a big one btw) is for an incredible 4 star inn.

If you're coming - talk your buddies into coming to, it's family friendly, so bring your favourite, spouse, child, girlfriend, dog or goldfish.

We've planned a show and shine for Sunday morning at the Gananoque water front park. It'll be a beautiful group shot!

See you there!

I Just spoke with Bram, unfortunately Rebecca and I will not be in attendance for East Fest, as our industries trade show falls on this same weekend down in Florida, and we have to attend as we are taking delivery of two new work trucks to bring back to Canada with us.

If it wasn't for the fact we are bringing back two new trucks we would have for gone the trade show, and attended the East Fest for sure. You can count on Rebecca and I in, for future events for sure.

Hoping all who attend a great and safe weekend.

Happy New Year to all!

I cant wait for this!

An update for you guys, we are approaching 30 cars/rooms booked, so if you're thinking about this, now is the time. We have about 8 people who have said that they are coming but have not yet confirmed with me, who's handling the registration, or booked their room.

So this event is easily going to be completely full. We are looking at it as about half the size of an XPO, with 10x the partying that the last XPO had.

This will be a fun event. We have almost all of the car related things that have worked for XPO in the past incorporated into this weekend.

Come'on over and join in on the fun!

You all know about Est Fest, but did you know there is only one week left to book your hotel room with the discounted rate and take advantage of our block of rooms? Book right away, as the hotel expects to sell out for the May 24 long weekend!!!!

Also, is there a group heading on down from the GTA area that we could join in with? I am off Thursday and may end up going down then but thought that since this will be our first major NSX outing that it may nice to go down with a group of cars.

We start Friday with registration and a BBQ (both in the evening)

I'm sure there will be a convoy of cars from Toronto, we'll set up a "meet point" and a few times for people to meet and drive in groups.

It wraps up Monday afternoon, after the Amazing Derek Hanson and his talk about vehicle dynamics and how to get more out of your car on the road or on the track.

OK... I know I've been on a 6 month hiatus... I've had a new member of the family join us and now she's 5 1/2 months old. I wonder if they have "pay as you go" insurance since I probably will only be driving it 10x max this year!

Anyway, I'm seeing if I cen convince my wife to bring Maddie along for the weekend. Logistics of course is a challenge but I really want to join you guys.

Since I've ripped out my Nav and audio system, I guess I have 2 months to re-install it! :)

Am I too late since I missed the Mar 16 deadline or can I still squeeze in?

There are a couple of rooms available on Friday and Saturday night and a bunch on Sunday night, but no one room is available for all 3 nights at Gananoque Inn. So you can stay there but will have to change rooms & the special rates no longer apply.

I recomend the Holiday Inn Gananoque at this time. It's just up the road and very nice.

Hi Clem - send an email to estfest@nsxclub.ca to register for the event, but first call the hotel. Last time we checked, it was FULL. Others are approaching other locations nearby for accomodations too.

We are going to see if we can get some type of discount at an overflow venue for the late comers.

If there is a particular hotel that anyone has found that works for overflow, PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP.

This is one possibility, but there are others as well. Just google "Gananoque Hotels". You should call the Gananoque Inn first, and see if any space has opened up and then for a recomendation for a nearby hotel if they are full.

Glad you're coming!

I just thought about ppl staying at an overflow hotel will have to tell us their exact plans and will probably have to approach the Gann Inns check in desk for a meal plan.

Most of the meals are going to be prepaid at Check In at the Gann Inn.

If ppl dont look after that, they wont have meals.

swbatte
04-07-2008, 14:08
Not to worry, a registrant's package is going out later this week, with all the instructions & info!

You do need to buy your meal plan at the Gananoque Inn regardless of where you're staying.

Thanks for the thread, a great way to start the day off - with a laugh that is, not with the beer, scotch, Tequila etc.

Just booked our meal plan! Note that it includes dinner for two nights (Friday and Saturday) and one lunch (Saturday).

This was probably mentioned somewhere else, but I don't remember it, so it can't be true :-)

AMAZING!!!!!

Hot off the press, a box containing a very special donated price from STACYSNSX arrived.

Stacy has DONATED (to the NSX Club of Canada) what appears to be a full set of ALUMINUM DOOR TRIM.

You should see these pieces; they're INCREDIBLE!!!

Some lucky bugger is going to win them at Est Fest.

Thanks Stacy! They look great!

You guys are so very welcome !
I just wish I could be there to hand them off !
These are the polished version.
For those who need a peak at a set I do believe a fellow will be there who has them installed (Ron Witt) !
Have fun and please post the lucky winner !
Another set will be given away at the "West Fest".
They also can be seen here

Thanks to everyone for coming. Everyone was so appreciative.

I want to make a special thank-you to:

Bram - for organizing sponsorship and getting more prizes than we could give away!

Stu - for helping with the logistics and taking care of the accounting at the end which is such a PITA.

Dave - for running the Show and Shine when I couldn't be there. I think we have to do show and shines away from headquarters hotels for now on. This one was so much fun because everyone just hung out and admired each other's beautiful cars for a couple of hours rather than hiding in their rooms.

Joe, Larry & Robert - for their great tech sessions. Everyone was blown away by the collective knowledge, and I know that their shops will be busy this week.

Derrick Hanson - for a great driving dynamics session. Everyone there took piles of notes and I don't remember any other time where everyone spoke so passionately about driving and NSXs in general.

Paul Henault - for not only organizing the cruise but for judging the show and shine. He did so much work, and doesn't own an NSX yet, but now we all know he will. And much sooner than he originally thought!!! Better buy it before September 2009 Paul!

A special thanks to Becky for helping out so much this weekend. She was my right hand "man" and did so much behind the scenes.

And a Special Thanks to Sean - who worked tirelessly to pull this whole thing off!

60+ people owe him a round of applause!

Correction: Sean and Becky. Between the two of them, they did 90%+ of the work for Est Fest. Everything from the mugs, to the hotel, to the lunch at the Show. THEM. Plus, they recruited Paul to help too.

Me, too, Stu. Why, just to see the photos! Wow.
I really enjoyed all the NSX (!!!) photos. Mr. Ondrovic (sp?) is the photo master! Portland NSXPO is booked already and I am pleased to learn about NSXPO 2009 in ONTARIO.
Now let's go walleye fishing soon. You may know them as pickerel.
Best of the summer to you all.

I had meant to write this much sooner but my brand new computer crashed the day I got home from Est Fest.

I would like to thank Sean, Becky, Stu, Dave Bram et al. for all the work they did in setting up the weekend. Getting over 60 people together and having everything run as smoothly as it did is a real testimony to the effort and organization that lead up to Est Fest.

Jill and I had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves and meeting so many like-minded people.

Next time it'll cost you an adjustment! I woke up on the Saturday morning and honestly thought, "sweet there's a DC here, if I need an adjustment I'm totally hooked up!".

Maybe we should have given a talk or two. That way we could have written the weekend off. If I hadn't packed the wash bucket and car cover, both of which did not get used, I would have had room for a portable table.

I sent out the two articles Derrick Hanson gave us in the driving dynamics workshop by email today, but many of your email accounts bounced it back due to the file size. Please let me know if there's another email account I should send it to.

Would it make sense to post stuff like this on a website? Or is more control of the documents desired?

Yes! We just need someone with some time and website savy to improve ours. Right now 5 members of the executive are working very hard, but we just haven't gotten to it as of yet. But "Website" is sitting in our Inbox.
