Just installed both Front Chassis Bar and Rear Tower Strut Bar(s) on my '95-T' and I can tell you: "What a difference". Just what the Dr. ordered for a little stiffness...especially up front...er... Anyway, these additions are Rock F Solid. I volunteered my car for the development/fitment of the (stock engine) Rear Tower Strut Brace and saw the time, patience and engineering that went into it's final design and ChromeMoly construction! Beautiful, snug, no-slop, one-piece fitment! I was always happy with the handling of my car, but didn't realize how much of a difference a Front Chassis Reinforcement Bar would make in mild-bump-sweepers. I'm not a radical driver and only "tracked" my car once. I hung up my flame-suit and leather gloves after getting the berries following "granny-lapping" comments from the other guys who I THOUGHT were my new buddies at Firebird Raceway one sunny Arizona day. LOL. Anyway, I'm looking to upgrade the sways next in my deviation from "Stock" class to "Near-Stock-but-still-reversible" class. Just because I didn't opt for Silver or Black, and put red bars on my Brooklands, I just hope all you style-gurus don't ding me with the "...yeah...looks nice and Christ-mas-sy" chuckle-commentary. Okay, fire away!

You "T" owners all need to talk to Ross at STMPO.

Been looking for a while for a Coilover kit and decided to go with this newer brand DG-5 Suspension Magic. The company is owned by the Drift King Keiichi Tsuchiya as he helped design this setup. I would say he has a pretty extensive backround in racing in many different cars including the NSX-R at the 24 hours. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keiichi_Tsuchiya The kit itself retails at $3180 uses Swift Springs and the spring rate is 9k front and 14k rear not sure why the rears are what they are but that is what comes with the NSX kit, also has 30 stages of dampening. For height adjusment you have adjust from the bottom turning the cylinder which is not that hard we did it only twice to get the exact height on all 4 corners ( Thanks VroooM ). As for ride it is awesome I expected a harsher ride on the softest setting the car feels so much more planted now but does need to get an alignment. I can only compare the ride to my old Koni-Eibach Pro Kit setup which is pretty similar. The only bummer is I have to wait until next April to see what it feels like at the track. The kit was purchased through Drift Speed and had no problems with these guys.

Best bang-for-the-buck ever in a large luxury sedan?

I recently went car shopping for a nicer sedan for the times when an insanely fun 2 seater with 5 cubic feet of storage won't cut it. I already own a '95 Accord 5 speed 4cyl, but it's really hard to get behind the wheel of that car after driving the NSX. It offers nothing to me now and so I pile all the miles on my NSX as a DD.

I wanted something semi-new with Navigation and all the bells and whistles. I searched for Lexus ES, GS, LS; Infiniti G, M, Q; Nissan Altima, Maxima; Honda Accord and Acura TL. Most of the nicer new ones were still kinda pricey for what you got. But that's to be expected since these are cars from the Japanese top 3 and all have good resale value.

Then I looked at the Acura RL. The 96-04 model that followed the last Legend was priced insanely low and did not follow the trend of every other Honda in resale value.

I found a 2004 Acura RL (which was the model year with EVERYTHING standard with zero dealer options...Navigation, XM 10 speaker system, power everything, mirror defroster, 2 memory setup, rear seat vents, etc.) for $8,800. The car is clean and has 130k miles, but damn what depreciation on a car that stickered for $46,000 5 years ago.

This car is as large and as refined as the Lexus LS series. Yeah it's front wheel drive, yeah it's only a V-6, yeah it's only 4 speed auto...but I never imagined being able to find such luxury at such a low price.

What's the deal? The only thing I could figure is that by 2004, the 1996 design was dated. Also the car was a sales bomb. Also compared to the Lexus LS with V-8 power on rear wheels, it didn't compete in the powertrain department.

Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you. If you're looking for a used Japanese luxury sedan with tons of refinement, I don't know of any better bang-for-the-buck than locating a 2004 RL. (You could locate an older one for even less, but then it's a search to see if all the features are there since they were "options" in previous years.)

The road is my patient. The NSX is the scalpel making precision cuts. The RL is the anesthesia with its soothing comfort. Getting behind the wheel of the RL places a smile on my face, but for different reasons than my NSX. I feel like I got the best of both worlds from Honda now. Honda's best precision street performance and Honda's best luxury.

Why did the resale value plummet on this car? Why are 2004 Accords and TL's still more expensive than 2004 RL's?
