Ill detail this best I can...
IM doing a stereo install, Pulled door skins off Climate control Radio Clock Dash Bezel Stock Subwoofer But at no time did it undo anything else, I did not take the main lead off the battery, even though people say to do it, i never do and never have had to for a stereo install. So it came time to remove the driver seat and I can't move it forward because there is no power, I put it on the mega charger,, nothing, not even a dome light! What gives, is there a dead batt relay or switch somewhere? I don't know where to go from here except put the car totaly back together. PS: I have tried reconnecting everything and it still does not work, is there some sort of reset? Protocal, maybe do a little dance in front of the car to get things right again! Help please.

Some how you must have popped the 120 amp fuse in the engine bay fuse box. That normally only happens when someone connects the battery backwards.

Fuse is fine. I have power in the fuse box in the engine bay.

Were you by chance near the ECM? could you have disconnected a harness there? do you have voltage at the ignition switch?
You should trace the route of power and see where its lost. Don't take random guesses. Is there power at battery? yes, then go to main relays and fuse box... yes, OK go to igniton switch... you know what I mean? follow a path.

Hazards don't work, I will check ignition tomorrow. Is there not some kind of theft system on these cars that dissables them?, did I throw it and how would I reset it....
Ill take the 30 min to put everything back together, i just don't think i really did anything.. But who knows!!

Did you by chance play around with the jump start terminal in the engine compartment to tap for the power wire to your amp??? Perhaps you undid the screw and forgot to put it back. Otherwise the only common thing is that 120 amp fuse that Briank mentioned or the battery terminals. Also, there is no theft system that would cause this. |

Malibu...
I have not gotten to that part of the install yet, I only removed what was stated above! Have not touched the electrical system yet,, infact, nothing is in the car yet, only taking apart right now. It is kinda freaking me out... Now i did take out the subwoofer and removed the brackets around the Ecu to put in the new Sub enclosure, I should see if any of those wires were tugged on while I was doing that. it is the only thing I can think of that might have done something. If all else fails, I will put it back together the way it came from the factory and call Acura road side assistance, Warranty is good till May 8th!!!!!

Did you undo any bolts that could have been a ground? G401 is the ground for the seats and the hazards (those are the only things you've made clear are dead). That ground is located at the left kick panel. So to clarify, you cannot power on anything in your car. Door locks, trunk light, ignition, headlights, wipers, etc? Nothing electrical works or is there something that does? Did you check this fuse in the attached picture? Simple continuity test. Last edited by Malibu Rapper; 03-30-2007 at 00:54. |

Nothing works..... BECAUSE THE BATTERY IS CASHED..........
I have a 225 amp charger and have plenty of dead batteries in my time after doing in install and I just plug it in and it takes care of all. well I should have just dissconnected the positive to eliminate it from the system and I did not. Now it is good. I hooked up the charger directly to the car and everything powered up just fine!!! The battery must really be trashed, 225 amp start mode did not power anything in the car!!!!! GOD I HATE THAT!!!! redbull brain! (not enough sleep, not thinking clear but tons of energy) Thanks malibu for working with me. I knew it had to be something stupid. it always is and I never devoted much time to diognastic on it cause I had other fabrication to do in the trunk tonight so it is all good. Thanks prime guys.. for at least letting me know you care!
