Thanks Mike for the post to remind the NorCal folks.
I just finished talking with Jake Tomlisnon regarding this coming Sunday's detailing day. And rather than repeat the same details already in Mike's post let me add: Event Time: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm or thereabouts Just like last time, Jake will have coffee and pastries waiting for us. He will also have one of his painters available to take care of chips. Trust me, you want to capitalize on this ![]() We have had quite a few interest for this detailing day but it is not clear how many will show up. Jake's shop can handle up to 8 cars comfortably in the shop. If we have more, and to give all an opportunity to benefit from the program in the shade, it is our recommendation that we focus on the problem areas of each car and then allow others to come in the shop. This way, those coming from the Bay area, or after church service do not get disenfranchised just because they arrive late in the queue. A heads up for those who may need a reminder if you plan to attend: this is an NSX event, so you can attend only if you show up with an NSX. This is an NSX event hosted by the NSX Club of America - Sacramento Chapter. Bring your own buffers/polishers (bring an extension cord if you plan to use one), towels, home brewed formulas, and whatever you need. Water, soap and electricity will be provided at the premises. In addition to Mike, there is a good chance that Jack Vaux from 3M will attend again. Vytas Banionis noted that he may also be able to attend. If so, Vytas will offer great tidbits as well given how he keeps his silver NSX and others in the Bay area shining ![]() We plan to order lunch and treat Jake and his staff. While Jake is flexible with time, we should aim at leaving the premises no later than 1:00 pm. Hrant Last edited by Hrant; 08-10-2004 at 13:59. |

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend. I have new job as a Honda sales consultant and my schedule involves working weekends, our busiest time. I do get every other Sunday off though.

Many thanks to Mike and his wife for showing up with all those goodies and making this detailing day a great success. We had 12 NSXs. Both Keith Jarett and Telly Chang came all the way from the Bay area!
For those who have not seen or tried Detailing Dynamics, they have some great products. The easy to apply steps were a synch and they also had a good aroma The ultimate cleaner - which is not a compund is really a great product to take etched water spots out. We all benefitted from Mike's hands on application and applicator. And some of us got to use their Porter Cable polisher, finally ![]() Of course, we should also thank the folks at 3M who gave a technical presentation on car care and introduced their new products. Our biggest thanks go to our hosts Jake and Janette Tomlinson, and their staff - who spent most of the morning showcasing the art of touch-up paint repairs. This is the second time Jake has hosted us and based on the success, we believe it will be an annual event henceforth. |
