Thumbs up Big Sur Drive CA1

Hi All,

Before the weather turns sour.... i'm trying to squeeze in another group drive.

The plan is for a leisurely cruise from the Bay Area HWY84 West to CA1 South. Since this is a "cruise", there will be good site seeing and photo ops.

The plan is to meet up @ 8:30 a.m. on Saturday 10/16/04. Can someone suggest a good coffee house in the hayward area close to HWY92 to meet up?

Steve

That's the date of the Mt. Diablo Challenge bike race, so I can't make it. I'd consider it on any other weekend date.

As for the drive, you could meet at Buck's in Woodside (Woodside Road & Canada Road - there's a coffee shop in the same shopping center) and then go up Woodside Road and take 84 out to the ocean (better drive than 92). There's supposed to be a very good restaurant in Pescadero (the name escapes me...) and then you could head south on 1 to Santa Cruz or to HW 9 back to Saratoga.

Hi Steve,

I don't think I can make it.....I have to take my family to the airport on Sunday....
By the way, thanks for helping me to install the sway bars...I got them on now...It took me about 3 to 4 hours in total......but when I install the rear bar, I found out that the outer right cv boot is leaking because of the clamp is loosen or shrinkage of the plastic, so I don't have a chance to drive my car after I got the bars installed Hopefully I will get it fixed tonight and I can feel the difference...
I will see you on Sataurday (if I can get the boot fixed). take care

Steve,

The boot is easy to fix, but I don't have the tool, so I have my mechanic to change the boot band for me. I tried a universal band myself, but they don't work, so I end up bought the oem band, and it only took about 10 minutes to fix. However, my mechanic also found that my oil pan and valve cover is leaking a little bit. So I end up had him change the two valve cover gasket and one oil pan gasket for me. The whole thing cost my about $450

I think 10/16 works for me, let's try to have another group drive by the rainy season.

Hi, guys

I think I would prefer the original plan......I am not sure I like the idea of Doc Wong after I read the thread of the previous Doc Wong drive....
What do you guys think?

Coleman... i agree with you. Let's stick with the original plan so we can go at our leisure and take pit stops for pics and breaks....

Let's meet at Buck's in Woodside (Woodside Road & Canada Road - there's a coffee shop in the same shopping center) @ 8:30 A.M.

Ted, can you lead us from there onto 84 out to the ocean and then to the restaurant in Pescadero for lunch continuing south on 1 to Santa Cruz ?

Please bring your club radios.

I can lead over 84 to the ocean and south on 1 to Santa Cruz. That'll be too early for lunch in Pescadero so we may want to head south on 1 out to Capitola or Carmel for an early lunch. I'll have to turn back in Santa Cruz for a prior commitment, but you may head south on 1 for an extremely scenic drive. I will have to turn back at HW9 due to other commitments, but I suggest you folks hook up at the Highlands Inn in Carmel for an [early?] lunch. Spectacular views of the the ocean and just south of Carmel Valley Drive with fine food. Going further south on 1, the views are spectacular but it's a slow drive due to the single lane and no passing. If you head south far enough you can visit Hearst Castle...

Quick question Steve and Everyone....
Is it ok if my cousin drive with us? He just bought a C32, and he wants to know if he can take a drive with us, and hang out?

If yes, cool. If no it's not, it ok no big deal.
Just though of asking.
