Default Kansas City Halloween Drive

I know we would like to get in as many more drives as the weather will allow, so who is up for this date Sun. 10/31/04? Gary.

Cool Re: Kansas City Halloween Drive

I'm game for the 31st. This might be the last time we get to do this for a while. I hope the weather is as nice as it was on the 17th, that day was perfect. How about the rest of you guys?

Talking Re: Kansas City Halloween Drive

Hey guys,

I know this is off topic, but my two trunk and two engine compartment struts are not working. I am thinking about removing them sometime maybe next month and sending them to Frank Irvine of Strutwise in British Columbia so he can rebuild them. He charges $40/strut in Canadian dollars which I believe comes out to $30 in American dollars/strut. Not bad considering how much new ones cost. If anyone has this same problem and would like to have your struts mailed the same time as mine, please let me know. I have heard great things about this guy's work by a number of people.

I hope to see as many as possible this Sunday. Will see you then!!

Hey, guys, I just got an email from Jerry Dobson(Viper) saying that he is getting together a group of KC exotics to do a drive this weekend, possibly to Springfield either Sat. or Sun. You may also have gotten a comunication from him. I'm up for it either day. He mentioned visiting Premier Motorsports, Motorcars Intl., and Team Exotics and maybe having lunch with one of them. What do you think? Gary

Removed about 50lbs of weight by removing the mufflers, and some of the underside panels below the engine/exhaust. Replaced exhaust with a stainless by-pass pipes. Front and rear sways and aluim foot pedals with a wide heel base (gas) are next. S-field should be fun.....enjoy the drive.

Tom, is it as loud as my flowmaster? I know the turbos keep it pretty well muffled even w/o any exhaust. You doing the mods yourself? If by chance we do the drive tomorrow (Sat.) will you be able to make it? Gary.

Sorry guys, no Springfield this time. Too short of notice. The guys down at Premier want to buy us lunch. I was planning on visiting them and MotorCars Intl. But Sunday is not good. If we get a warm weekend, it will happen soon.

We are going to have an impromptu car cruise this Sunday. It will be all types of cars.

Where are we going? No clue. We normally take a vote or decide if someone has discovered some new roads. Last Sunday we cruised for about 5 hours. You can bail out at anytime if you have other plans. This is not a highly organized cruise, just meeting and cruise of car friends.

We will meet at 12:00 Noon in Shawnee Mission Park by the Tower.
•Exit 435 onto 87th street. Head west.
•Go past Renner, Lenox and Haven.
•Enter Shawnee Mission Park (by the baseball fields)
•After entering the park, stay to your left and you will arrive at the tower.

Some of the guys normally come by my place prior to heading to the park. I live one street prior to entering the park. 8505 Haven in the Parkhurst subdivision.

A few rules for cruising to nowhere land:
•Get gas before you arrive.
•If you are the lead car, a Yellow light means stop.
•If you are the lead car, signal way in advance if you plan on changing course.
•Once you see turn signals, turn yours on to alert the rest behind you.
•If you don’t want to drive as fast, let others pass.
•If you plan on passing, signal first, then flash your lights prior to passing.
•Having your driving lights on helps a lot. The lead car can see if the pack is keeping up.

NSX guys... should we just get on board with the shawnee mission park cruise?

FYI - they are resurfacing the SMP roads so they are kind of loose gravel right now. Coming from the 87th/baseball entrance I believe it's just the first entrance stretch that's gravel until the road splits, so to the tower it should still be surfaced.

I'm game for the afternoon cruise. Just to clarify, does this mean we will do the Shawnee Mission cruise instead of our usual one in the morning, or is the plan to do both? I just want to make sure. Thanks.

Hi guys,

I never know who will show up. Most of the guys never let me know ahead of time. I did talk to a couple of guys tonight that said they will be there. This might motivate a few more to show up.

They are:
Joe in his 01 Lotus Esprit (twin turbo)
John in his Ferrari 288 GTO !!! (Very very rare car)
Chris in his Ferrari F40 (Not too many of these out there)
Chris, Kurt and Myself in our Vipers

I have road maps open tonight. Looks like we will head south on back roads through Louisburg, over to Freeman, Drexel, Adrian and then back up C hwy to Peculiar and Belton. So we will kind of make a Kansas to Missouri Loop and then home. But if someone has a better route, we can do that.
