You Need this Tool Cabinet!

Hi all,

I just bought this tool cabinet made by a company called HammerHead. It is completely awesome. The construction, fit and finish are spectacular. The packing it came in was first rate. It is all stainless steel and looks like a piece of hospital equipment. Clearly, it will last a lifetime. Here's a couple of pics I snapped from my garage before I fill it up today.

Notice the top is on hydraulic arms which is a nice trick. Also, notice the double ball-bearing rails on the larger bottom drawer which has a 500lb capacity. Speaking of weight, the bottom half of the chest weighs 260lbs - empty! Here's another pic with everything closed up.

A single key locks the top chest (all drawers) and another key locks the bottom (all drawers). The cabinet comes with the rubberized mesh liners for all drawers.

Anyway, I can't say enough about the quality of this thing and perhaps the best part is the value. I picked it up at the local Costco for $649. In my mind, it is a steal. Just thought I'd share.

You're right, I do need one. I've been looking at others since I moved but hadn't pulled the trigger. With the nearest Costco being much further from me than several Sam's I never joined, but since the buy-direct price on this is $999 I guess I'll sign up.

Will the two boxed pieces fit in an old Suburban or will I need my trailer?

Thanks!

Steve, I bought the one from Sam's and it just barely fit into the Excursion. Essentially the same box but the Costco box is stainless (wish I would have bought the Costco box).

Steve,

Take your trailer and grab one for me, too. That thing is NICE. Where is the closest Costco to here--Steve, St. Louis?

Nice Job KGP.

St. Peters, Mid Rivers Mall exit. They had them there on my last visit, about 3 weeks ago.

On a bit of a side note, do you guys know what Costco's blanket warranty is? Everything in the store, except TV's and computers, is under their sastisfaction guarentee... if you are not happy with it, bring it back for a refund, period. My son's electric scooter quit on him, so I tried to get a repair part. Because I was in the middle of moving I could'nt find the manual. So, I called Costco to see if they could provide me a phone number to the manufacture. They told me to bring it in and exchange it (I couldn't even find my reciept). The thing was a year old. Heck, I felt like I was taking advantage of them, and even told them so. They said "no problem, that's why we have such a good guarantee."

I agree. Maybe this should be in 'Off Topic' instead.

It is the NSX of tool boxes! May not have the fancy name of those other guys typically seen in red, but it performs better and is built from superior materials sure to last a lifetime without any hassles.

KGP, as it happens, I stopped at Sam's on the way home for another quick look at that one. It is very similar and was my previous first choice, but at only $50 more the SS one really does seem like a deal.

Ben, I'll have to throw stuff out for one, where the heck would I keep the second one until you come for it?

Absolutely. I saw the one at Sams after looking at the Craftsmen boxes. It was an easy choice. Didn't even think to check Costco, but wish I would have.
