Any luck having someone go to SLO?
I wish I could help.
Love to have these protectors!

I will call him later. He has not gotten back to me after my measurements were sent

Thanks for calling Arista.
I hope you have good news.

Please keep me posted as well!

If no one gets out there in 3-4 weeks I might justify a trip to SLO/Pismo Beach. PM me though cause I lose sight of this thread a lot. It sounds like a good idea though since one of the first things I do is look at the bolster shot on a car for sale :)

Thanks Frascati! I will gladly contribute $10 for fuel. We need to get this done as soon as possible before the vendor loses interest.

Who else is prepared to put up money for fuel so we can get Frascati out there as soon as possible?

Lets not let this chance get by us...please!

Please count me in for a set of black 91 covers when they are available. Any info about price and delivery would be helpful as in earlier posts. Thanks.

Bone....it looks like this project is dead. We need someone to take a seat to the manufacturer to have it fitted. We had a volunteer but it looks like no one is willing to help pay for fuel.

I might be able to drive my car down there as well, but it will have to be in another month or two.

I'd be willing to chip in, but I didn't see anyone stating the cost of fuel as an obstacle to making the trip. It seems more like an issue with lack of time and/or interest. Some people just don't care to put the miles on their NSXs, or are interested in socializing with other NSX people.

If I were closer I would be there in a heartbeat.

So no Prime members located in SLO?

It's definitely going to be some time before I have availability to drive down there. I was hoping someone much closer located in SoCAL could do this.
Please don't let the momentum cease on this product.

A friend of mine has a bolster cover that was made by Motegi. I understand he does not produce them anymore. If my friend were to loan me the cover, could it be shipped to the supplier for duplication? I'm not 100% sure my buddy is willing to let it go...
just say'n!

meanwhile as my bolsters wear out....

Yup...I think this idea has passed us. Too bad! I would love to have had a set on my NSX!

EVERYONE...GET A GRIP!

Look at my earlier post of 5-25. If I can borrow a cover made by Motegi as an example, why couldn't it be duplicated?? Must a car or seat be shipped to the manufacturer for that type of accuracy? I didn't think we were trying to duplicate a space shuttle!

here...

Bone-Stock, the side bolster protectors that were offered by Motegi years ago are just cardboard flaps covered in a terry-like fabric which then slot into the space between the seatback cushion & side-bolster. A very simple, yet effective application. But, definitely not custom (as-in particular for an NSX seat) enough for a fabricator to reverse-fabricate a tailor-fit bolster-overlay. The custom-fabricators mentioned in this thread would offer something more bespoke & precise, hence the need for exact measurements/dimensions.

I really wish I had the time to do this, as I've put together some materials which seem to offer a rather cost effective bolster protection alternative at a relatively attractive price-point while still pleasing to the eye & touch. I'll see if I can get creative & find a solution to the rather involved hands-on assembly.

And lastly, perhaps the most logical solution- why not contact Leatherseats.com (and/or another of the handful of custom leather-interior vendors online who offer NSX replacement seat covers/trim) & have them mock-up some bolster-guards for the NSX seats. They already have the seat templates, along w/ their proficiency & experience w/ the craft.

Just my 2-pence, from afar. . .

Re: here...

why not contact Leatherseats.com .

I was just going to suggest this. They have been plenty helpful before and are on this forum. They can make something even better for us.

OSIRIS,

Sorry, didn't know about the information you supplied. I'll await to hear back from the thread. Thanks again for going out of your way.

Stay tuned..

We are fitting and fabricating a prototype.

Got tired of waiting...

NOTE: info will be on a new thread, will post link here when created

If someone is working on this - awesome. My offer still stands to go to SLO. I have a little bit of maintenance going on now but should have the car back in a week or two, which longer than I had planned. I never refused to go due to lack of money for gas nor asked anyone for anything.

The only rated G thing I can think of is to quote someone else in saying "get a grip". Oy vey people!

Yes, we are working on this, and think you will like the result

This is definitely a "for owners/by owners" design process. Myself and other local owners are collaborating on the design and prototype.

It is different from Motegi's original and will be a fitted (bespoke) design.

Will seek feedback from everyone on a new thread when we have the prototype completed. Stay tuned...

Thank you for taking the initiative to proceed with a whole new solution!
We look forward to your results.

As frascati offered, I too am willing to drive down to SLO, but can't do that currently, as our son was born less than two weeks ago. My wife would kill me if I made that kind of trip at this point of time (with her doing 2 hr feedings).

Chase, I am back in town. How is the side bolster going? Rob
