How is the second generation build quality?

Yes, which some (maybe a real minority, but some) of us consider a beautiful vehicle. Ahead of it's time styling-wise, that's for sure, now that the X6, GLS, and Model X are all competing in that "SUV/coupe" space. And the interior of the ZDX is wonderful--truly Tier 1 luxury in terms of materials, styling, fit-and-finish, etc.
Acura, again too early to the party.

the ZDX does sell quickly when we get pre-owned units. interesting car, but it has SH-AWD.

I was at a focus group prior to the ZDX launch. We verbally threw the presenters out the window and lit them on fire after they showed that mess. Honda released it anyway and the brand took a hit off of that screw up. Basically a faux X6 for old suburbanites looking to pick up antique carpets on the week end.

I went to look at the new NSX in Naperville today. I wanted to like it but it's not the car for me. I like that it's modern and the technology is impressive, but they completely missed it on styling. From the side it's not bad. The front and back are pretty awful though. It probably has exotic performance but not exotic looks.

I did watch the Jay Leno clip where he interviews the designer. Why the he#@ would they hire someone just out of school to design it?

I told the sales person I was working with that when I went to look at the Lamborghini I just had to have it. With the new NSX I wanted a reason to like it but just didn't.

Sorry you don't like the styling. For me it's one of my favorite things about the car. It's got a great look from all angles and has that low/wide look. I think it looks very similar to the 570 McLaren and also has some 458 look about it.
I really enjoy my Gallardo spider however the NSX is such a better drive overall.

The rear of the nsx is certainly smoother and less stylized compared to the Italians...the diffuser is still very nice, but the butt is round...and you want to xxx throw down.....

My anaconda don't want none unless it's docjohn hon

you can do side bends and sit-ups....

I'm sure in terms of performance it would be a nice step up from the Gallardo, especially in the transmission. In terms of looks though, it's a huge step in the wrong direction. My wife told me no way. Looks too much like the LFA or R8, both unattractive cars.

If they were taking cues from the 458, how did they screw the design up so badly? From the rear it looks like they put a TL back end on a Camaro.

One beautiful, one not so much.

This is quite interesting for I have long thought that Acura was disconnected with reality and consumer wants. Your story really points to that. So I would surmise that Honda/Acura doesn't care to listen to comments made by owners or anyone on these forums. Additionally, I've heard that dealers who are engaged with their customers have stated that Honda/Acura doesn't listen to them either. Basically, the corporate folks will do as they please.

Still a Gallardo fan (esp with later design tweaks) but I love the new NSX design as well, AND the gen 1 NSX. They are all automotive art to me. I’m also a weirdo who liked the ZDX’s design, but never bought one because I hit my head entering the rear seat EVERY DAMN TIME. Gah!

I agree. The Gallardo is minimalist design love and will always be a classic. The 2nd gen looks good too, better looking than the R8 or LFA for sure...

that really makes no sense whatsoever? they don't seem to be learning any lessons...

the Gallardo was a great, very successful car in its time. half of all Lamborghini's ever sold where Gallardos. and the Superleggera was the sexiest version...

The Gallardo had the squarest ass in the business. Looked like sponge bob’s girlfriend. It wasn’t sexy in my opinion.

Yeah, it was a giant cheese wedge. Especially if yellow or white. A Lamborghini tractor looked better.

It just goes to show that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I really wanted to like the Gallardo but it was just too ugly for me. The rear end is easily the worst of any exotic car I've ever seen. Lambo really stepped up their game after that, but the Gallardo isn't a proud moment looks-wise for Lamborghini. As for the R8 and LFA, I'm not really a fan of either of them either. The NSX looks much better than all of the above IMO. Other modern exotics look better than it does, but they all also cost a lot more.

Agreed. Cannot like Gallardo. Have tried so many times. Seems like a compromise compared to the outrageousness of what came before it.

Also, can't compare anything to a 458. May be the greatest design of the past 30 years.

i also thought the regular Gallardo was a bit too angular. still a nice looking car, but not the best looking of it's time. the last model Superleggera was sexy though.

now the 458, in my opinion, probably the best all around, perfect blend of Supercar there is...
