I will assume you called your insurance company before hand. Question though, what do you do about plates? If it is not from a dealer and you do not have temporary tags, what do you do for such a long trip home?
Recently there have been a few NSXs on ebay go for super cheap. A couple of them had relatively bad damage and the poster shows this. I would have no problem buying them in the repaired condition and driving the heck out of it.
I really applaud your effort on a project this challenging! My brother slid a Chevy 350 in his tiny S10 blazer many years ago and I never once envied his position, but it produced a one of a kind car. I'm looking forward to the first ride report.
I have had my own garage for the last 7 years in the city, so no problem there. I do remember in my old neighborhood Uk Village, there was a guy who had a few toys in his garage including a 911 and a Land Rover. I will just have to see what is on the market when I move into the new place.
I am currently in Logan Square and will definitely NOT get one while I am there even with my garage. I will be moving this fall, probably to Jefferson Park and will have a garage. I am not sure I am ready to move to the suburbs even if it means having the car in a nice safe spot.
I am pondering getting an NSX soon and one of my dilemmas before pulling the trigger is where I will store it. I live in the city of Chicago and I am of course aware of the attraction you get driving these cars. I wonder how many of you live in Chicago proper, and if so what you recommendation...
