    91-97 Custom Test Pipes

These are a set of test pipes that allow the '97 factory headers to mate up with the '91-'94 exhaust. They eliminate the heavy cat's, saving a ton of weight and making a nice, dark exhaust note when used with the stock, or Comptech type muffler. With a Tiatec, it's a pretty wild bark. They were...

I am selling my '91 coupe, which I'v owned for the last three years. Always "adult" owned, it is in beautiful shape, with all service records back to new. I have added a few tastfull mods, all of which can be converted back if prefered, including: upgraded to '97 factory stainless headers...

    ceramic coated headers

Sounds about right. It depends on how much they have to coat, kind of a by-the-foot deal; short, basic header and collector can be a lot less than a longer system. Anything beyond thier basic silver finish costs a little more, but I like the satin black enough that that's what I always get.

    ceramic coated headers

I'v probably done 20 sets over the years, usually with Jet-Hot. It makes them last just about for ever, is very easy to keep clean, keeps the heat inside the pipes for more velocity- power, less hear all around outside, and you don't have to go with the silver, which I think looks sorta cheesy...

    How Fast is Too Fast?

It's all relative for each situation; luckily I live in a rural area, with beautiful sweeping curves and at certain times very light traffic. When sight lines allow, I'll twist her up to 140, just to hear the engine. It's part of what makes it so good to be alive!

    Coolant Tank Question- Searched

Another remote possibility is a head gasket going, and pressurizing the cooling system, resulting in the tank seeing pre. and burping out coolant. I hope not! A comp. test / leakdown will tell, if no other easier options are found.

What type of coolant to use?

I have to dissagree; VW, Porsche, Audi, that I know of state that the coolant will last the life of the car, and advise no changes. I don't think Honda's coolant is in any way inferior. We will all be changing hoses at some point, and including a new water pump with TB change, so the coolant...

    Test Pipes

I didn't notice much gain in grunt with the test pipes, but did feel the noise level increased quite a bit. Enough that I swapped exhausts. I had been running Tiatec Parallel ex. and liked the sound. When I installed a set of '97 stock headers, the easiest way was to eliminate the Cats,( to save...

    Need Help! Oil Issue

I'm sorry to hear about your Baby's troubles. I too know the sick feeling after spun bearings. If in fact there is damage, my experence has been that as much as we hope for minimal problems, its best to suck it up, and do a proper tear down, as the metal flakes from the bearings will be strewn...

    New ITB by Revolution

ITB's show up on bike motor's like the Suzy Hayabusa all the time, work beautifully, pass emissions, etc. It's all in how you control the engine functions. The 'Busa uses two short intake stacks for best top end power, and two ( four cyl engine) longer stacks for better torque, to give a...

    push-pin removal

Hi Prime; I'm pulling my fender liners tomorrow, and have struggled in the past saving the push clips. As I recall, you push on the center to remove, but this isn't working. Any hints, besides wasteing them all? I hate paying $2. each for the little dogs. Thanks, Tom

    coolant hoses DIY

As noted, the OEM spring clamps can be a pain to work with, but I like the fact that they always put just the right amount of tension to seal the hose application. A lot of screw clamps will start cutting thru the hose when tight.
