    2017 nsx q&a

Confirmation on the silver interior trim bits. Which are the "exposed structural components" and are the others aluminium or silver plastic?

    the NSX's deadly rivals

Fair enough. For me though, I like all the touch-points of a car to be high quality.

    the NSX's deadly rivals

Seeing as we just seem to be posting interior pics now, here's the old girl's...with a bonus girl in it! It's showing it's age as far as layout and tech (design is nearly ten years old now...!), but properly specced (as mine is) the materials are all pretty nice, and the finish as you'd expect...

    the NSX's deadly rivals

Oh cool! Actually I do remember reading that now - thanks for reminding me. Surely that's just that bit on the passenger side? I wonder about all the other silver bits. I'm confident the bit on the transmission tunnel is plastic at least. Side note and back to the rivals discussion: I just...

    the NSX's deadly rivals

I wonder that too. My R8 resets mode each time...but oddly retains the suspension setting.- - - Updated - - - Can you remember what video it was? It seems very hard to imagine a packaging way that those bits could be exposed frame. Also, there's the bits on the center console, doors, etc. I'm...

    the NSX's deadly rivals

Not arguing aesthetics or functionality, as I said, I really like the NSX design. Just the material quality. When I pay 200k+ for a car, I at least expect the bits that look like metal to BE metal. I believe that ALL that silver trim on the NSX is plastic, though unsure. Anyone know for sure?

    the NSX's deadly rivals

I prefer the layout/aesthetic of the NSX interior, but the material choice bothers me (I think - obviously I haven't had a chance to sit in one). Any close up of the plastic bits look very cheap...and as I said, that big plastic dial in the middle is a worry. Compare that to the climate control...

    the NSX's deadly rivals

Optioned up they are 200k USD, so exactly the same as the NSX. Will be ever so slightly slower...3.5 0-60 has been announced, but will be faster than that (Jag seems to overquote by .3-.5 these days). Track, who knows? No times for either. Again, I'd say the NSX will be slightly better...

    the NSX's deadly rivals

Left-field contender: F-Type SVR. I hadn't previously thought the R was a rival, but with the announcement of this mega one, they are right in the same price bracket.

AutoGuide Poll: NSX or Lambo Huracan?

Well I suppose I should add that I don't think the NSX is much of a looker EITHER, just better than the Huracan. The proportions are all wrong...and that of course broke the new R8 as well, which pissed me off lol.

    the NSX's deadly rivals

I would not say they are in the same market segment. GTR is a rung down on looks, build quality and features. The only direct rival is the z06 (which is better in every way)... And coincidentally something I'm cross shopping against the 2.0...even though they are in different segments!

AutoGuide Poll: NSX or Lambo Huracan?

Huracan sounds better and has a MUCH better interior...but god, it's just too ugly.

    reviews are out

I considered the GTS as well, but at the end of the day I just can't make friends with the styling. I think all current Mercs have lost the plot visually (as have all Bimmers and most Audis). Then again, you are listening to someone who thinks that the SLR is the best looking car ever made...

    Production date for NSX

I wonder when Jap deliveries will start? I'm hoping to get into one by the end of this year...but so far Japan doesn't even have a website up...

Time to fish or cut bait . . .

The one that was tested against the NISMO GTR (not the normal one...!) had the wrong aero setup. The Z06 is currently the 4th fastest car of any kind around Laguna Seca. Literally Viper ACR, 918, P1, Z06. Incredible. 0-60 times are typically 2.8-3.0. About what we'd expect in the NSX.
