Yes - it feels real good, especially knowing that I was willing and able to work on my own car, do the reading, do the learning, get dirty, make mistakes and finally work towards a solution.
And it feels good having a resource like the people on prime.
Engine Stall/Idle Problem Solved
After months of hunting, searching and learning I have solved the idle hunting issue with part # 37870-PJ7-003 Sensor Assy (TW5).
If you have this same issue, please check and/or replace both Coolant sensors.
Thank you to all for your help over the months with...
Dalybo - thank you for your help. Larry B has also assisted me and I found that I had my front o2 Sensor clip lose and not all-the-way plugged in. I have since fixed this and reset the ECU with no light occurring after a drive. thank you very much.
Also- I have downloaded the service manual and...
I've been looking over the service manual and on prime but I just want to make sure that I am reading my codes correctly:
After jumping the connecter, here are the flashes.
TCS light came on and was flashing after a drive.
( 3 One Second lights and 7 short quick lights)
CEL light is...
Making progress on fast idle.
Taking 'shawn110975' advice from an earlier post, in addition to all of my changes I have to say I have made some progress.
I had purchased a new Fast Idle Valve and put this on, thinking this would solve the issue. After some investigation and continuous Vacuum...

Vandale - this is Ciphernet360 in the U.S. I have been having the same issue as you with regards to your phantom high idle. See the link below where I listed what I have done. Maybe we can exchange ideas and help one another out without us both spending money on ruling out issues.
you can also...
Vandale - I hope you have not given up, but this is the exact same issue that I am having. Question on your second pic, these internal valvles, do you think it could be the actuator that runs these causing an issue.
Since you and I are having the same problems, let me run down what I have done...
As for me, I run and Optima Red Top in the NSX and an Optima Yellow Top in my 05 Nissan Frontier - As the others have advised, I keep my car on a battery tender as I don't take it out much.
However, I would not recommend an Optima battery in terms of price. They are expensive as there are other...
Yes- I have. In fact, I have replaced both the EACV valve and The Fast Idle valve with brand new factory spec Denso parts from Acura.
I thought this was it too. I then followed the NSX manual to reset the idle. Got the 500 rpm as expected, but once completed, could not get it to idle again...
I found the correct PSI Numbers here:
NSX Fuel Pressure:
-Idling with vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator disconnected = between 46 – 53 psi
-Idling with vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator reconnected = between 36-44 psi
Briank - To answer your question, yes. When I do the idle adjustment according to the manual, which entails disconnecting the EACV, I am able to get the car to idle at 500/600 rpm.
This is why I can't believe that it is a vacum leak. correct me if I am wrong, but if there was a vacuum leak, I...
Briank - Can I ask you:
1.) Can you describe what this part is
2.) Is this the actual part I need to order? Can you help direct me to a unit for my 1992?
Briank -
How do I check this? Do I check the / a fuel preassure regulator or do I need to check the preassure in actual lines?
The car isnt' stumbling. As posted, It will sit at 2,000 rpm to 8,000 rpm all day long, no hitch, no miss, no stumble and runs smooth at any rpm that I am at.
I am...
Update:
Can anyone inform me as to where I can get a new throttle body with throttle position/angle sensor and actuator motor?
Based on this long post, we have hunted for vacuum leaks and replaced parts. We are now at a point where we disconnected the throttle angle sensor, disconnected the...
Thanks for the input. I am going to try this test as well:
Here is a URL to an Acura dealer in the U.S. The EACV is $256.00 U.S. but you may want to contact them to see if they will ship the product international.:smile...
Briank - thank you for the replay. below is an update. I agree, it is starting to look like a vaccum leak. below you will see what I have done so far to track this down. We were able to get the 600 rpm at idle reset. It looks like my problem is really noticable when the car is warm. I am...
