Popped around this morning to drop some outer cv's off which will be machined down and then used to bolt the hubs/bearings together - no drive shafts means things are kinda sloppy up there! Figured I'd snap a couple pics while I was there.

Back from the dead, kinda!
Progress continues - wiring is 99% completed and once i have my rocker covers back and fluids topped up, various systems bled and the crank angle sensor polarity figured out - we can start her up!
Rear diffuser is all but finished and exhausts reworked to come down...
The C30 running gear is only around 100lb heavier than B series.....What we have stripped out in weight as part of the build we have probably put most back in in terms of rear subframe, heavier hubs, extra weight of plumbing and fluid on board and so on. I would probably guess it won't be too...
Thanks mate,
Yeah motor in and out through the bottom - typically it'll be a case of just dropping the whole subframe down - subframe in it now so it can roll around.
I hope it feels amazing! ;)
Grant and the boys at GT have been busy He just sent through pics on what they have been up to over the last week or so.Car is all but finished in terms of paint. The rear guards have been chopped and welded to suit flares but they can't be fitted until bumpers are on and ride height is set...
Ok more pics as promised!!!!
Here is what they feature:
- Throttle bodies from a few different angles. With all of that wiring taken off you can actually see that it looks like a motor!
- Reinforcing of the inner skin where the oil filter sandwhich plate will mount and the access/drain plate...
Update!
Science of Speed throttle bodies in place.
99% of the fab is done and car going to painters in a couple of weeks to get inside sprayed.
More pics to come soon!
Some more work!
Most of what is required from this point on is the fiddling stuff - nothing big and structural, but it takes time!
So this is where things are up to
Shifter is mounted and feels good
Handbrake mounted, cables routed and brackets made.
Coolant pipes under car run, bent and...
UPDATE!!!
So, the day after I got back i went up to check out progress and there has been a lot!!!
Exhaust is now completed
Exhaust cover for "engine bay" is completed
Fuel tank mounting more or less completed
Water pipes/hoses to front of car mostly completed
Some pics!
Some more updates!!!!
Rear sway bar mounted. It mounts off the chassis in the NSX, not the subframe so had to make some custom brackets etc.
Also had to chop the end of the headers off as it fouled on the sway bar.
Fuel cell is more or less mounted, low and as far back as possible without...
UPDATE!!!!!!
Progress coming thick and fast.
Pics feature the following progress:
- Car on it's feet for the first time in a long time
- Wheels stick out a bit
- Strut towers all but welded up
- "Strut Brace" tacked in
- Exhaust manifolds - yum yum
- Roll cage welded in
UPDATE!!!!
Kevin, the main man at Redline Enterprises has been away for a few week and managed to get some hours in on the car this week!
The rear strut towers and shock mounting is all but finished. Some final plating and welding around the newly constructed shock tower is all that's left...
Thanks guys.
Real Type R's are a dime a dozen here so didn't really make sense to start with anything else. If nothing else, to save me having to remove all that sound deadening haha!
My fab guy is away for a couple weeks so just in parts collection mode for a while.
Have the front...
Some better pics of progress!
Now I have the front engine mount, the engine can be setup perfectly on the subframe and that can be set in the exact correct place. The plan for how to make the rear chassis, and the materials are all sorted so things should progress fairly quickly from this...
Motor and subframe mocked up in place to ensure enough cutting as taken place ;)
Now time to start on chassis rail fabrication and strengthening so the subframe can be mounted in place!
