It might be worth replacing the U shaped guide at the bottom of the regulator with a pulley like the old hugabuga kits did. That guide is a huge source of friction on the regulator cables.
The electrical engineer in me can't stand having resistors sitting around for no reason generating heat lol.
But yes, centerpunch is correct, the resistors needed are going to be a high wattage, low resistance type so the ones you have leftover probably will not work for this. The bright...
Not sure how I missed this thread, this is the first DRL turn signal mod that looks OEM! Might actually have to do this one.
@centerpunch Joe has been selling those on Facebook for a while. Prime rules generally prohibit advertising services/products without a vendor subscription so it hasn't...
Running lean on hot starts is pretty normal, typically this is accounted for with a post start fuel table where the initial correction is based on coolant temp which then decays down until the O2 sensors are up to temp and can take over.
Yeah I was pretty underwhelmed by the JDM gears and R final drive as well. The 1-2 shift feels better of course but thats about it. A supercharger is absolutely a better way to make the car faster, but also very expensive.
Slow and steady...
I fitted a set of green bearings and torqued up the mains, then checked clearances on each journal. The service manual specifies 0.0009-0.0019" clearance on the mains, so before coatings I'm targeting ~0.0017" clearance, and after coatings are applied I'll be right around...
I finally started on a tedious task I've been dreading: reshaping the combustion chambers for a 93mm bore size. I'm not really trying to change the shape so much as just open it up to fit the larger bore size and deshroud the valves as much as possible in the process. The 36mm valves are quite...
@Ojas has rehosted that site on his personal site https://ojas.net/nsx/mirror/dal#Cam Gears
When using off the shelf camshafts like Toda though I do not expect to see much if any gain from changing the centerlines once they are degreed to spec.
HP Academy has a video on cam timing adjustments, you have to pay for it but just reading the synopsis gives a pretty good idea of what the process is. https://www.hpacademy.com/courses/how-to-degree-a-cam/the-6-step-camshaft-degreeing-process-optimising-cam-timing-on-the-dyno/
When the motor...
There's a guy near me who I've been talking to about running my engine in on his engine dyno. Not sure if it'll pan out but playing with cam timing on it would be interesting for sure. Of course, last I talked to him was about a year ago due to various machining delays, so good chance he's...
For mild to moderate builds on 91-94 cars a remapped factory ECU will work better than almost anything else especially if you're just getting into DIY ECU tuning. It already works so you can just make small changes and get a feel for how different parameters affect the engine.
Comptech cams were hard welded weren’t they?. Hence the lobes cracking off the munched set I ended up with. Did they change to billets later?
Somewhat related, I don’t remember the company but there are VTEC killer roller rockers available for C30/H22 that could yield some interesting results.
Measurements from Toda C cams can be found here: https://www.nsxprime.com/threads/camshaft-specs-and-measurements-toda-comptech.218245/
They're actually 252 degrees of duration on VTEC.
The web regrind profile is 235/230 advertised duration. Based on my limited knowledge the web profile is...
