Yes, you can order a new seat cover from any Acura parts department. IIRC, it was around $600-700.
IIRC, the labor was about $350...guesstimating 2 labor hours. Several indy shops offered to do it for less.

It appears you decided against the white Type S with a black wrap. Do you mind if I ask why you decided not to purchase? Was it because of uncertainty of the condition under the wrap? Or were you looking for a factory painted Gotham Gray? Thanks.
Last year, I leased a "like new" (aka pre-owned) Audi RS e-tron GT. The first owner spared no expense with a full black matte PPF, carbon fiber wheel inserts, a Radenso RC M built in radar detector, AL laser jammers, and Blackvue camera system. The radar display was mounted in the roof console...
Do you think it would look silly to paint the emblems red (on a black car)? I used to chuckle when I would see how some people "customize" their cars. And now I'm considering an equally silly customization.
Don't want to hijack this thread but since it's not very active, I'll ask a related question here.
I've never liked the silver emblems on the non-S car and had removed them on my 2018 and 2020. I like the black emblem on the S. I have removed the emblems on my current black 2021 but the car...
For better or for worse, the R8 arrived earlier this week and I declined the purchase. I feel good about my decision to keep the NSX.
Now I just have to decide whether to do something to improve the exhaust sound. I really don’t know much about exhausts, catalytic converters, mufflers etc...
Thanks for the detailed review. My R8 is supposed to arrive on Monday but I will be out of town for the holidays and have another 2 weeks to decide. I had pretty much decided on keeping the NSX and then started having second thoughts after passing an R8 this afternoon that sounded great. I think...
Acura agreed to goodwill part of it. I’m paying $360 total to replace the cover which is a great outcome. I’m guessing Acura is providing the part for free and I’m paying the dealer 2 hours of labor. Thanks for all the feedback.
Dealer finally responded that Acura will not cover the seat cover replacement under warranty. I've asked them to ask Acura if they will pay for the costs as goodwill given that I've owned 9+ NSXs dating back to 1997. My service rep is brand new and I don't know if that impacted her success in...
I'm still waiting to find out if Acura will cover the seat cover replacement under warranty. In the meantime, I've learned the following:
-Some places repair seats by filling and dying the cracks. I've been told this method will not last very long
-Other places repair the seats by replacing the...
This was described as a matte finish but I thought this was called satin. I have an RS Etron GT that has a satin PPF on it (came that way from a FL dealer). I never thought I would even consider paying $8k for a satin wrap but the color is growing on me. Isn't matte more dull than this NSX?
I've admitted that I cannot explain why the Type S felt like too much car to drive but the regular NSX does not.
I definitely preferred the looks of the Type S but, to me, the differences aren't worth $80-90k outside of the collectability potential. And if I'm relying collectability...
I *think* I will value everyday driving experience over sound. But I've never had a great sounding car...the closest being a Carrera S with Sport Exhaust. I do know that the lag in the M4 was driving me nuts. My current daily is an RS Etron GT and I really like how you can step on the pedal at...
Had a black 2018. Traded it in for a yellow 2020 (engine updates and prefer yellow). Got an allocation for a 2022 Type S and sold the 2020 before the Type S arrived. Loved the Type S but I didn't feel comfortable driving a $230-240k car. Not sure how to explain the psychology of being ok driving...
Just picked up a pre-owned 2021 that has some wear on the side bolster. From talking to a few auto upholstery places, it sounds like my options are 1) repair the bolster (this solution supposedly won't last very long), 2) replace the worn part of the bolster (non-OEM supplier that supposedly can...
I lost the first vehicle I had planned to buy from an Acura dealer. I'm now looking at another NSX that was previously CPOd by Acura but is now being sold by a non-Acura dealer. I've read in the T&Cs that if a CPO car is sold private to private, the CPO warranty transfers. I've also read that if...
So it's bumper to bumper for 4/50 but it starts from the time you buy the warranty, correct? Not automatically extending the original factory warranty to 8/100?
Does the extended warranty only cover the powertrain? Or is it bumper to bumper like the original factory warranty? I'm looking an NSX that is Acura CPO. It appears the CPO only extends the powertrain coverage...technically, it extends the bumper to bumper by 2 years but the car still has 2+...
Same. This was my 7th NSX (97, 98 ,01, 04, 2018, 2020). I will miss the Type S but I'm glad it's going to an enthusiast.
Car was picked up this morning. Enjoy!!!
