Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know about the history of this '97 auto nsx on ebay? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acura-NSX-T...a893c44a2&item=251410531490&pt=US_Cars_Trucks I did a search on prime, but nothing came up.

Can you guys with a keen eye give me your opinions and thoughts about this nsx? I don't mind that it's an auto. But from the pictures, the exhaust looks like after market of some kind, and they did something to the targa top, which is kind of weird. And the engine bay pictures show some kind of corrosion or flaking of the red engine covers? Should I be concerned about this? Or is this normal?

I'm in Houston, so if there are any Houston nsx owner who can come and take a look at this car with me, please message me. Thanks!

Tom

Looks nice, the targa top appears to have a carbon fiber "wrap" which should be very removable. The question of course is whether the wrap was put on to cover paint damage. The dark tint on the windows makes me suspect it was owned in a sunny area, so the roof might have some damage.

The interior components that suffer from bubbling have also been swapped out for the brighter silver look. For 1997, those components were all black. Spare tire is missing and the one in the trunk doesn't look like the factory tire.

Cant comment on the exhaust or engine.

You may want to post on the Texas regional forum, there is a strong Texas group so you should be able to find someone to join you. The price is competitive, so if there aren't issues this NSX may move well

good luck!

Thanks! arista5 and blue_myriddn for your replies. The 65,000 miles in 1999 looks to be a typo in the autocheck, and the question about the targa top also crossed my mind. It appears this NSX was a lease for most its life in sunny Florida, so you might be correct about possible sun damage. I didn't know that tidbit about the interior components, so thanks. I've seen this NSX come up for sale before, and it used to have these god awful looking black wheels, which now have been replaced by what looks like oem wheels. And yeah, I'm hoping someone in Houston can help me check it out in person.

The wheels might be OEM, but I doubt it. The shape is roughly right, but they don't have the decals on the center caps and the one in the trunk doesn't look quite right.

I also noticed the windshield wipers are painted yellow which isnt OEM for sure. Must look interesting when they are in motion.

wow it spent some time in Staten island.....that can be a rough place to own an exotic car.Crappy roads, tons of traffic, limited public parking...ding city.

Oh wow! you're right, I didn't even notice the yellow windshield wipers in the youtube video, LOL. And the rear bumper is definitely a darker yellow.
