Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 and 3

Anyone driving them? The GS-D3 was available in 215/40/17 for a long time and I was very happy with them before I switched over to Hankooks some years ago. Now, the newest model is available from Goodyear in that size. Tire tests say that the Goodyear is one of the best tyres out there in dry conditions, well better than the Hankooks. I've mounted them today but haven't driven them yet. What can I expect? If they fulfill my needs I'm definitly switching over to Goodyears in the rear too.

I used the GS-D3 for years on various cars. What an awesome tire.:frown:

They seem less "extreme" than the GS-D3 ? More of a classical tread pattern...
The series 3 seem different from the series 2, and i cannot find series 3 in 215/40 R17 ?

Some shops only carry Asym. 2 while others carry both. When I wrote my post I only say Asym. 2 in 'my' shop. I've ordered from a different shop now but they came from Hanover as well just at a lower price and their rubber was cooked just a few weeks ago.

I hope that Goodyear didn't mess up the rubber compound and that's what I'm counting on: sticky rubber. They have 8 mm of thread on them so they will 'swim' when new like the GS-D3 did when new. Just wondering if anybody tried them. It looks like the US guys don't have them in 215/40/17 for whatever reason.

Now have them all around. They feel pretty sticky and great, definitly better than Hankooks. Sorry for the US guys that you don't have them.
