The Bluegrass Chapter BMWCCA is having a HPDE drivers school at Putnam Park June 14-15 and there are still openings available. Putnam Park is a great track, very safe for beginners with lots of runoff, still fun for experienced folks because of the variety of turns. It's about 30 miles west of the Indianapolis Airport.

This is the 9th year for this event; as in previous years it also features a BMWCCA Club Race, showcasing some of the better Midwest Bimmer hotshoes.

More info here. The application form is available for download.

If you can't wait till then, the Buckeye Chapter BMW CCA school at Putnam Park this weekend still has openings. Click here for the poop.

still lots of room...

Event organizers tell me that there is still plenty of room at this school. Less cars = more open track = lowered probability of incidence of incidents (and higher odds of uninterrupted track time) == MORE FUN.

Plus, Putnam Park is a great course -- 10 turns in about 1.8 miles, with lots of interesting combinations, elevation change, off-camber turns, fast and slow turns. Used by Indy-area race teams for test-n-tune events, this is a popular venue for many clubs, and one of my personal favorites in the Midwest.
