NSXPO Day 5 - we go karting and tour Comptech

Another great day for driving. We started off with some indoor karting and then headed over to Comptech for a tour. Everyone then had dinner in Napa and the parking lot could not even fit all the NSX's. We had over 100 cars today and more are still expected with the total probably exceeding 200 as the weekend approaches.

highlight of the day!

I'm sure everyone who experienced it will agree that the police escort from Comptech out of Sacramento was AMAZING!! The CHP actually closed down Highway 50 (a major artery) for us (~100 cars), and blocked off all intersections on our way onto the highway. Even President Bush couldn't have received more preferential treatment, IMO. We were leaving Comptech at around rush hour, and the CHP officers were actually prompting us to speed! While cruising at 80 mph, they were waving at us to go faster. So, ok, we went faster. After our group separated a bit, some of us ran well over 100 mph while trying to regroup with the lead pack. This was all well within view of the CHP. Unbelievable!!! Even a helicopter followed us for the latter half of the escort. Some people say this was a news 'copter. I hope someone records the broadcast if that was the case.

All in all, it was a surreal, flattering, and once in a lifetime experience.

That we did. It was amazing last year to have about 90 NSX's going from the hotel about 45 miles into the Fort Worth stockyards all running stop signs, red lights and even driving the wrong way down one way streets just to get a photo op.
