First time out at ECR, it's a fun course. Sorry about the wind noise in the video. :(

And autox from last weekend, it's put on by the local Porsche club. It was a really fun course and I took FTD by a solid 2-3 seconds. :D

Nice Videos!

Do you Auto X more than go to the track? The reason I ask is; from an instructor ( I instruct with Apex out at MSR) point of view it looks like you might auto X more often than track drive.

Some of the habits and technique you have to use at an Auto X with some full lock steering inputs (exhibited in the second video) from such tight courses are looking like they're costing you time/smoothness and keeping you too busy on the track.

For Auto X you pretty much HAVE to shuffle steer to make some of those tight turns, however for ECR I'm seeing no turns that require you to move your hands on the wheel so much. It looks like the NSX has a quick enough rack to allow you to do even the tightest turns with your hands at 9 and 3. This in my opinion would allow you to relax physically and subconsciously, and eliminate some of the work you need to do in turn making you smoother overall.

I notice what I see in your video a lot with students; when they/you shuffle steer your inputs tend to be that much more abrupt, and your reactions a little less smooth, sometimes either causing an upset in balance, or not allowing you to gather the car up with tiny calculated movements before you NEED big ones...

Does that make sense?

in short... try to do a session or two... or three with your hands in one spot, check your data, then again like you normally do and compare the results. After you get used to it, you SHOULD be faster, smoother, and more relaxed at the end of the session/day.

Yes I am aware I was shuffle steering quite a bit, probably more than I needed too. The NSX does have a pretty slow steering rack (3.4 lock to lock) AutoX has definitely made my smoothness suffer, but it's been great to get me seat time and comfortable in the car, once I get my smoothness down I should do pretty well.

But in my defense, even Senna does it on tight turns. (FF to 0:55)

Went to Hallett Raceway last weekend. Awesome track, I liked it a lot more than ECR.

Here is my best lap of the day, a 1:32.16.

This lap was pretty early in the day, I was getting substantially faster towards the end of the day but kept getting held up by traffic and couldn't get a clean lap in. I think with some more time out there and less traffic I should be able to just touch the 1:29's.

Here are my other vids, the track was REALLY wet in the morning, then dried off as the day went on.
