Well tommrow i will be test driving a arrest me red 94 nsx with 36500 miles. I am kind of scared to drive it caus i drove a automatic one when i used to sell acuras and loved how that car handled but if i drive this one i will probley want to buy it.

Well i have been a poster on clubsi.com for the last 4 years and have owned a few hondas. i currently have a 01 type r but i have always wanted a nsx and this one looks like it might be it. i got the type r because of how it handles. And thats what i really want in a car. speed doesn't really matter but it is nice to have. i hate how the type r has no cruise control sucks on longer trips for my foot. and how when crusing at 90 or so the car revs at 4800.

the nsx being a 6cyl would rev lower and it has curise control i think. but for thoes of you who have driven both the type r and the nsx handling wise is their a night and day difference between the two.

is there anything i should look out for when i am looking at the car. is there any tech problems with the 94's? the guy wants 39,000 for it does that seem a bit high? and being 6'4 is their any differnce in head room between the t version and regular version?

Also right now i have a warrenty if i got the nsx there would be none.

this is going to be a though decesion.

Check the FAQ. It's got great info on model changes by year and a purchasing checklist.

Not too many things to look out for on the 94, but find out if it's had the timing belt done... it's due at 90K or six years.

Dali Racing's seat cushion will give you an extra inch or two of headroom if the car is too tight for you. There is no significant headroom difference between the coupe and the T.

Any mid-engine car is going to have different handling characteristics from the Type R. The Type R is a great car, but you won't be disappointed with the NSX.

I think $39K for a NSX with that many miles on it is a bit high. I bought a 94' with just 17.5k miles and paid $40k, which was probably a bit high but then again, it was pretty much new. See if they'll drop the price. Good luck.

Gun metal gray stock wheels
Stock as a rock - #0030
Just 18,500 miles but planning on adding alot more

i told my slef in the begining i would not pay anymore then $36000 for a 94 and no more then $32000 for a 91 with lower then 50k miles

I could be wrong, but im not sure theres really that much difference in the 91-94 in the resale department, other than miles. this is assuming that the snapring range has been addressed. in other words, a 91 with 15k might be worth more than a 94 with 35k, assuming the snapring was not a problem.

just my humble .02cents.

also let me add that a car with that amount of miles maybe in need of a new clutch depending on how the owner drives ...so this is another question that you might want to ask him " if the clutch has ever been changed ? "

well i loved the car but not THAT one i drove. either the aligment was off or the front end got hit hard. the hood was re painted you could tell rough edges and the stickers under it where removed and put back on. i think the fenders where painted to but not 100% sure about that. the wheel was off center and vibrated the intire time i drove it from 0 to 100 it did not feal rock soild like it sould.

So the search continues. i am reallying looking for a 91 93 94 in PERFECT condition. for 40k miles on a 91 i would pay no more then $32000 and on a 93-94 no more then $36000 now if the car has very low miles and is flawless then i might bump each limit up a grand or 2 depending.

there are plenty of nsx's around the texas area i found 4 in houston 3 in dallas and 2 in austin and 1 in san an and 1 in el paso. but dont have the time right now to go look that far away. one weekend at a time. i will consider out of state but i would have to be 99% sure that thats the one before i would fly and drive in back.

wish me luck

You are wise to let that one go, you should be able to take your hands off the steering wheel at greater than 100 mph, and you should not be able to feel the engine running at idle in a good quality early car.
Friends who are invited to drive my '92 can't believe it is 10 years old. Keep looking, it will be worth the wait and the premium in price to get a perfect specimen.

I know what you mean. Most people (not NSX specialists) think my car is a '99 or '00. In reality it is a '91 with 116k on the clock. I love this car!
