Valve Adjustment

It’s not typical for the valves on the NSX to need adjusting any more periodically than suggested in your owner’s manual. In fact, Honda has been raising this interval throughout the years. If they were adjusted properly last time then I’m sure you they’re still within specification.

Letting it warm up properly is the key. It should be driven at least 20 minutes right before being smogged, not just sit idling for 10-15. If the tech who told you to adjust your valves after getting a high reading on a cool car is really knowledgeable, then he's just trying to sell you work you probably don't need.

Have it done when you have some of the engine apart for some other type of work. I did it during my 60,000 tune up and I wasn't charged much more because everything was opened up anyway.
