NSXPO COUNT DOWN (2/3) - ScienceofSpeed Cracks 400 wheel hp naturally aspirated

Chris, What about the 3.8L powerplant? Still an option? what are the differences between the 3.5L and 3.8L configured similarly? what about a 3.8 with stock manifold? great stuff all around! -Anthony

    Recirculating turbos anyone?

I have wondered the same thing. The whole *WOOSH* BOV sound is kinda ricer IMO, especially in light of the NSX's prestige in the automotive community. I guess it has it's place in the S2000 scene, but even then... Plus, as you've mentioned, the 997 turbo, 335i, R35 GTR and many other twin...

Science of Speed SOS twin turbo vs Lovefab turbo

I'm sure there're other contributions than just the L.A. population itself, but, there are just more people (cars) than the geography can sustain w/o SMOG. It's a huge valley and all the junk gets trapped down below.

Science of Speed SOS twin turbo vs Lovefab turbo

Hey i can't blame you for having that sentiment at all. But idk if you've spent anytime in Southern California (LA area mostly), but because there are so many freaking people, there is so much freaking NOx (SMOG) all the time! Occasionally we'll have light seasons where you can see the...

Well the engine managament would be via AEM F/IC, which is a piggyback system -- not standalone (like AEM EMS) -- on top of the factory ECU. This way you can retain cold startup/normal idling. You sacrifice ultimate tweakability, but i'm no race-car driver, just street/occasional track use.

The manufacturers are hopeful, but i suppose they have to be if they want to sell me a kit :) No, in all honesty though, the easiest, safest thing is the CTSC route. High boost when not getting smogged, take it down when smogged. The SOS SC i think would pass too, since it's based on the CT...

Science of Speed SOS twin turbo vs Lovefab turbo

Just want to say -- thanks to everyone for your replies. Right now i'm still torn between these two turbo setups, leaning a little toward Lovefab simply because it's tried and true. The SOS setup is just brand new...no one has tried it yet, so no one really know of any glitches. Can't really...

Science of Speed SOS twin turbo vs Lovefab turbo

Yeah not yet. Planning on getting an s2000 when i get done with loans, then an NSX type-r type thing, and throw in a C2 corvette build, and a 70 chevy pickup build. A lifetime of gearheading ahead of me... :)

Except that everything i know is in CA! All my job prospects are here.... but it's not like people never move! Heck, i would like to explore OR, WA, maybe CO or the Dakotas. All nice places :)

I agree man, i will def. track it when i get it -- that's half the fun :) What does it take to get a CARB sticker for a product anyways? Why can't/won't Lovefab or the other turbo companies do what CT did?

Science of Speed SOS twin turbo vs Lovefab turbo

I wholeheartedly agree with you and your take on power. I don't intend to just grab the power before i run the NSX crazy on the track. That would be doing myself a misservice i think. But to just discount the power increase [potential] and forgo it just because the NSX does everything else...
