Should have specified... this is for a 1992, which based on my searching, is a different part number than the 1993+ cars. Not sure what the difference is exactly. So I would need one from a 1991 or 1992 model year, unless someone knows otherwise what the differences are.
I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the ATX-20 HD along with Antigravity's battery tray. Quite a bit cheaper than the GREYMRKT one. I'll figure out how to mount it...shouldn't be too bad considering it's substantially smaller than the stock battery.
@JasoNSX @bogle - thank you both for the info! Any specific reasoning why the restart feature is potentially problematic? It sounds like it would be a neat feature... not sure if it's entirely necessary, but curious why it could cause issues.
@SakeBomb Garage - Looking at a new battery for my '92 and came across this thread. On your website, the ATX-30 Re-start is the only battery model shown for the NSX. The manufacturer website lists the Group-35/Q85 battery for the NSX though, with a much higher price point.
Is this a...
@Lowpad - was there a red one with Volk TE37 wheels still in the shop? I'm probably heading up Monday to drop off a load of parts. Not sure if they've gotten started tearing it apart yet.
@Lowpad is your car still with Ben? Trailered mine up there on Friday and he had a white one still up on the lift, along with 3 black ones, another red, and a gorgeous, pristine, 6k mile green one with 2 blown head gaskets. He is quite the character, but damn does he know these cars inside and...
Congrats on the new NSX! I am also a new NSX owner... '92 with 89k miles. Just brought home last week... leaking coolant at the thermostat (replaced) and just noticed a pinhole leak in the front left brake line, so going to replace with some new ones before also bringing mine up to Ben at...
After a more detailed look, I believe it's probably a hose or o-ring. Gonna have the thermostat replaced and pressure test done to nail down the leak location. Thankfully the coolant and oil are clean, and there was no indication that anything blew out the head gasket.
After this I'm probably...
Thank you very much for the info! I have read the cooling systems in these cars are a bit more complex. Good to know on the viscosity too. The spots on the trailer floor were still a clear bright green color, which I was hoping was a good sign.
Getting the car up on a lift here shortly to...
Looks to be coming from the upper part of the driver's side right under the throttle body somewhere. I didn't have a ton of time to check in detail and hope to get it up on a lift tomorrow for a deeper dive. Was more curious on coolant viscosity. My mind always immediately goes to worst case...
So I just bought my first NSX, a 1992 NA1, mostly stock. Just had it delivered and upon pulling off the trailer noticed a small bit of coolant on the floor of the trailer. As I'm not an expert on things NSX (yet), I'm not certain but the coolant felt thicker than what I'm used to in modern cars...
