Hi, Reifen— I don’t have a Cantrell cover but I have a stock, generation 1 , engine cover for coup models which has been opened up to expose the engine. I’d consider selling it if you are interested. If so, send me a private message and will provide pictures. I’m located in Upstate NY .
Thanks, Champ--very helpful.
One other Q in his regard: Both the parking light and side marker light on the passenger side are out. Is this a coincidence that both burned out or are they wired together so that if one goes the other doesn't work...or, is there a fuse for just one side?
The bulb went out on the passenger side of my '92 and I think that I was able to get a phillips head driver on the screw from under the bumper. However, it just keeps turning and turning and I can't pull the light unit out.
Q--Is that phillips head srew supposed to come out or does it remain...
Be careful in putting the car on 4 stands--make sure the first side you raise is good and solid. Also, this may be overkill, but when I raise my car up on all fours, I also put bocks or jacks on the center jacking points as well, just to be sure.
Before you jump to conclusions about a head gasket, track down where the leak s coming from. On the passenger side there is the water pump/its hoses and hoses going to the oil cooler. If you have trouble seeing where it's coming from , you can use a black light/dye kit to track it down.
Another connection to check is the wire to the starter solenoid. Check to see if it is loose or has any corrosion on it. I had an occasional/episodic no-start problem with my '92 about 5 years ago and this was one of the main things which was recommended for me to check. If this is bad, no juice...
Contact MA Carbon. They can do the job for you. They do interiors for all of the top-end cars and their work is top notch. A good friend of mine does cf workfor them and his stuff is ,without a doubt, the best I've ever seen.
Regarding the turn signal issue, I had to replace the turn signal canceller unit on my '92 a few years ago. I tried to clean it first, but it didn't work. Upon replacement of the unit, all's been fine. By the way, replacing the unit was not difficult.
Amen--I had my baby out also. This is the first winter in about 11--12 years that I haven't taken my sportscars off of the road. I wish every winter were like this!
