    Whining noise from VTEC?

The noise is not solved, the car have been on jacks the last year :( The emissions is good. From the last Vehicle Inspection all 4 values was good. CO 0.0, CO 2500 revs 0.1, HC 6, Lambda/O2 1.00.

    Whining noise from VTEC?

Hi! Almost a year later I managed to disassemble the car to change water pump and timing belt using Gary Kentosh's excellent guide. First question is, from the service manual and Gary's guide the cam gears should point to each other and the flange on the crankshaft is facing up. On my there...

    Whining noise from VTEC?

Thank you all by your input. I don't think the sound can be recorded, I only hear it in the cabin. Outside it's to much noise from the exhaust so I cant here the noise at all from the outside. The VTEC theory is without any substance :) I just wanted it to be something around that rev but it is...

    Whining noise from VTEC?

Hi. In the end of last season on my way to a track day I got a whining noise at high revs but did not investigate further. After maybe an hour on track the rear O2 sensor whent bad so I drove home carefully at low revs. The oil was at top mark on stick, maybe little over even and oil pressure...

    Clutch/gearbox/slave cylinder problems?

There are no missing rivets, every other is from the other side so it might look like that. It sure looks like the line where the rivets are is the weak link. In an Swedish forum, non NSX specific, I learned that the pressure plate and/or flywheel is convex/concave and since the friction...

    Clutch/gearbox/slave cylinder problems?

Maybe I got lucky that noting more severe happened when the friction plate started to separate. The surfaces on the flywheel and pressure plate is without any damage and actually looks new. The scoring from the CNC-machine that made the flywheel is still there! I wonder what could have happened...

    Clutch/gearbox/slave cylinder problems?

I’ve found the problem (I hope). My 5 month old RDP clutch disc had begun to separate. On ¾:th of the disc the friction material had came apart on the outer half so the clutch probably didn’t disengage and therefore the problem to shift. I’ve bought a new 6-puck disc from SoS that hopefully...

    baffled oil pan

Why is a baffled oil pan wasted on the NSX? If you are able to get a constant pool of oil for the oil pickup everything is ok? Shouldn’t I achieve this with a pan like the one attached in this message?

    Clutch/gearbox/slave cylinder problems?

My transmission is outside the known scoop with snap ring problems. There have newer been any crunch or grinding. The transmission oil was without any contamination and looked like new. When I try to engage any gear with the engine above ~1800 rpm I cant engage any gear. I haven’t tried to...

    Clutch/gearbox/slave cylinder problems?

Hi! I have a problem with my clutch/gearbox. During my last track event this autumn all of a sudden I couldn’t change gear from second to third. It was no problem to go from 2:nd to neutral but no luck at all to engage third or any other gear. I can change gear when I keep under ~1800 rpm but...

Bad O2 sensor? Ok to drive on? Cost effective solutions?

DutchBlackNsx: I got my ‘check engine’ light lid up yesterday at the track with code 42 = Rear HO2S Heater. My mechanic says it’s the O2 that’s gone bad and the engine run in with preset values witch is rich and potentially can damage the cats if I drive to long and to hard. When the subject...

EBC-Brakes... anyone have any experience with this company?

J14nsx: I’ve read that EBC Greens is rubbish on anything heavier than an Elise but Red and Yellow should work fine. According to EBC Red and Yellow isn’t for street use because they need some heat before working properly. As I understand your post Red Stuff doesn’t work that well cold and when...
