You don't need the spacer. The 97-01 rims are exactly the same as the 94-96 rims dimensionally. The 94-96 brakes are the same as the 91-93. All this to say, honda shipped cars in the configuration you want to go to (essentially) from 94-96. Enjoy the new rims.

I know of a 92 Accord 5 speed with 39x,000 miles. Aside from regular maintenance items, the only thing that has been replaced is the alternator. Its still on the original clutch, you gotta love Hondas!
