I am planning on making the drive up from Florida to attend the Petit Le Mans. Anyone here planning on going? If you have been any information or advice?
Coming from the European scene and being a general enthusist I enjoy the Car Lounge. If you are not familiar it is just a general enthusist forum. Found some pictures of fellow Prime member's NSX in this thread. Kind of a compliment if you ask me. If it is a repost I apologize...
Yes they came with 4 cyl transvers mounted toyota engines run by Lotus engine management system. I ways saying perhaps the Toyota engine was lacking so it became popular to do the swap. But again I would like to say thanks for the great welcome to the NSX world. It is appreciated.
I am mostly around Gainesville but Orlando and Tampa from time to time. Though I am in and out of the country often. I know it was common for the earlier model Elise to get engine swaps. Honda engines and VW 1.8T were used often. I don't know if the Toyota supplied engines were lacking.
Thanks for the info about the shop. I will check into it. Here are a few more pictures. Still trying to identify the exhaust. I also learned that a new clutch was installed when the TB was changed. I feel like an idiot for not catching this stuff before I purchased it.
Sorry I apologize, the TB has been replaced. The dealer will send the information over about it. It was replaced according to the dealer in his words, "Less than 2,000 miles ago." I will keep you posted.
Thanks again Tim. I just assumed with the mileage it wasn't a huge concern...
It does have all the maintenance records though the TB has not been changed yet. The car is out of snap ring range, so no worries on that. The interior is nice, though the bolsters are worn but that is to be expected. I was never as close to getting the 911 as I was for the NSX...
