DIY: NSX Race Car Prep Tips

No, I wasn't clear - the 180F is in reference to the ECT. I can only dream to see 186F ECT after a 55 minute race.

DIY: NSX Race Car Prep Tips

From what I hear water temps hovered under 180F with the vortec SC. I can only imagine the aftercooler being just as cold too.

DIY: NSX Race Car Prep Tips

Thanks. From my understanding the aftercooler unit is in house machined. We run the exchange to the front by the radiator (there just isn't room in the trunk). Heat is the enemy in these cars. The rumour I keep reading is that RTR NSX at it's final big push was too efficient for cooling. I...

DIY: NSX Race Car Prep Tips

Ahh. The CTSC parts have been removed except for the belt tensioner system. In it's place is the Kenne Bell 2.3L supercharger with an aftercooler.

DIY: NSX Race Car Prep Tips

The NSX (1991) completed in HSR (Historic Sportscar Racing). At that time it was running a Comptech supercharger (now CT Engineering). There was an ad posted and after checking it out we imported into Canada. Why? Race car already :) The only problem is that you inherent someone's else's setup...

DIY: NSX Race Car Prep Tips

It's an old car and I find relevant information is hard to source. Hopefully, this helps and maybe inspire a few more to come back to the track. This isn't a true DIY; it's the things my friend and I got stuck on. Think of it as hints. Take note there maybe better options than the ones we...

    James May on the NSX

Like fastaussie I see it as relative as well, and when we look back to yesterday in the form of nostalgia it is always through a coloured lens. I feel the article is fair. I do disagree with the comment; "But you don’t want to drive old cars. They’re just not very good. If they were, they’d...

    92 NSX Race Car build

We ended the season as 2016 Champions. Hopefully we start to see a few more show up as race cars.

    92 NSX Race Car build

TL;DR It Starts Dyno Race Longer story next post - - - Updated - - - I can't figure out how to resize the images. BBcodes for image size are not accepted :( The NSX started life as a street car and then it became I guess a semi track car. The previous owners I don't think were able to...

Gear box oil with OS Giken (gear friendly) ?

I'll throw in my 2 cents. Note: OS-250R Not recommended for transaxle applications. Talking directly with OS Giken they recommend a blend with 75w140 for transaxle applications. Their OS-250R you could use but only like 1/2 a quart (500 ml). What we're using is a blend of Honda MTF +...

    NA1 Bypass Security Unit

There's a couple of solutions but the easiest without dancing around a roll cage is to ground the connector C10 (blk/yellow, one dot). * You could jump C10 to the factor ground G401 on the same connector but it's a pretty dirty ground without the box

    NA1 Bypass Security Unit

Hi, I'm looking for information how to bypass the NA1 security unit. Searching - looks like many folks just disable the unit. I would like to eliminate the security unit all together - race car :D http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/161261-Factory-Security-Bypass...
