I lived near Tachikawa in west Tokyo, but I was downtown quite often. I purchased an NSX from MAC Full House in Adachi and drove it locally for about 2 years before I moved back to the US and took it with me. Was pretty surreal.
Thanks for the advice all. We've actually decided to be on the Maryland side in between DC, Baltimore, and Annapolis in Anne Arundel.
Seemed to be all the amenities we wanted in NoVa but a bit more house for the price. Drive to Daisy will be shorter at least! Anyone here over that way?
I...
Thanks!
*Update*
I sent the cluster off to BrianK. He said it had evidence of capacitor leakage, so he rebuilt the board and sent it back to me. I got it back into the car and went for a drive. All fixed, reads almost spot on.
So, if anyone reading this thread here in the future...
Surprisingly, almost all new cars that leave the factory have paint defects that need some sort of correction but it's surely not to the extent you see above.
I purchased my car abroad in Japan and the rain had etched the paint pretty badly over the last 25 years, so I had it corrected when I...
Yeah I'll be honest I'm not an expert on the matter, but I've seen some of these guys do wonders on paint cutting into the clear and sometimes the base coats to remove the UV damaged layer. Supposedly the coats on the NSX are fairly deep as well.
I'm still around as well. I will pipe up in the Prime FB group from time to time, but I much prefer this place and the memories.
I'm on NSX #3 .
I documented my total loss of NSX #1 on here, and I sold NSX #2 over 10 years ago now. It came up for sale last year from the same guy I sold it...
Agreed. Several Zanardis with interesting stories. Really curious as to why they wrapped the top in black.
I like black tops, but I didn't think "Zanardi" when I first saw the car in the ad until I dug into the particulars. Doesn't really look NFR to me either, too light. Maybe needs a paint...
FWIW, I just did this in a right hand drive NSX and it was slightly easier than the 1991 Acura FSM lets on though I did have a removable steering wheel. There are fewer switches to unplug from the lower panel on a Japanese car and the two main 30 pin connectors going into the cluster itself came...
Pulled out the gauge cluster yesterday morning. Wasn't too tough to get out with the removable steering wheel, took maybe 30min.
We'll see what BrianK has to say about the boards.
I just used an app that utilizes GPS to confirm. Civil GPS isn't mil spec accurate, but it can get you within a couple knots at 500+ knots groundspeed, so fairly accurate.
RPM in gear is a good way to confirm too and it's how I had been driving the car when it's colder out until I could figure...
Any way we can get the pictures updated? Photobucket may not host them anymore. All I see are grainy, out-of-focus pics with the photobucket watermark.
